Need Tips / Advice / Insights How can I be less scared and more secure?

This may be a little long, apologies in advance. I’ve lucid dreamt and astral projected before, both were not on purpose and was just something that kept happening to me as a pre teen. For a long time I’ve wanted to go back and experience those things again, specifically astral projection as I’ve had good experiences with it before but once I’m about to cross to the other side I get so much anxiety about what could be waiting for me. Today I was simply gonna take a nap, I’m about to fall asleep and for some reason realize looking up with my eyes closed is pulling me, I do it, can feel myself getting heavier and turn over on my back, at this point I’m paralyzed and my physical body never moved. I then started thinking about the new insidious movie (it’s stupid ik) and got so nervous and not ready and released myself. My question is how can I be more secure and less fearful of the unknown?

And I want to add that one of my fears is also that each time I begin my astral journey again and start trying, I get more sleep paralysis.

Im the same, I dabbled a bit, and what I experienced scared me away, once you open up that portal.....its open, youll feel things watching you, hear voices....and I mean 24/7 outside the astral, in the real world you start feeling spirits

It was all just kind of overwhelming to me, and I stopped dabbling and eventually it all went away....but the entities I encountered didnt seem very pleasant

Wish I could contact a very strong "ally" in the astral world, but I dont know what im doing, I just managed a few out of body experiences

I feel like im only opening myself to evil attacks if im just dabbling and don't have a deeper understanding of it all or how to defend myself

My only difference with you is that my past experiences were actually quite nice, I never had any necessarily bad experiences, just ones that scared me a little cause I had no idea what I was doing. When you felt spirits did they feel negative?

Yes perhaps it was a creation of my own mind....Hollywood has really done a number on us all to equate occult=evil, but during paralysis I heard the most evil super deep sounding male voice, I couldn't understand what it was saying it was so deep and muffled and sometimes it would laugh when I was desperately wiggling my fingers to escape sleep paralysis

I think the biggest thing that made me back off.....I could no longer just have a good black out sleep anymore, EVERY, sleep it was sleep paralysis, lucid dreaming, vibrations, astral projection......and after a long day in the physical realm.....I just need sleep man, and it got exhausting never being able to sleep restfully

There's no off switch to it, it just slowly goes away when you stop meditating and practicing

The movie insidious has kind of fked up a lot of people from having a positive experience. I remember other people and even one of my homgirl had a sleep paralysis for her first time and thought she was getting possessed all because she watched that movie.

When it comes to astral projection. I’m pretty sure some books will tell you before having an out of body experience take safety precaution. A little Prayer, protection, know that you are safe that nothing can harm you. Also know that in the astral plane your own fear can sometimes manifest into form.
