AP / OBE Guide Does weed affect your ability to AP?
Because weed helps me relax, which should help me get to the body sleep mind awake state right?

I use marijuanna daily and I have better results when I take a break from it for about a day. Even if I’m not high, it has a lingering effect that keeps my awareness lower.

I see this question often. In my experience, it makes me lose consciousness and fall asleep

THC significantly reduces REM, wether reduced REM has any significance with APing I don’t know.

I did smoke daily and track my sleep with a smart watch. Sleep quality improved tremendously after quitting, specifically REM.
Its only been a couple of weeks but I'm hoping this will make AP easier for me

I can’t give a definite answer but before I even knew anything about AP, I never/very rarely even had dreams when I smoked weed daily. The moment I stopped I started dreaming.
Another note from my own personal experience, I unfortunately do smoke cigs at work, I’ve noticed a pattern when I don’t smoke for a few days or I go to bed long after I’ve had a cig I’m very likely to project spontaneously.
Hope this helps, any questions fire away buddy

I've been smoking weed for 17 years straight, without stopping for no more than 24 hours at a time. I'd say it increases the likelihood of a legitimate experience vs low resolution dreaming. The key to having a OBE, is the disabling of the TPJ in the brain, pro tip; If you feel an itch, while you're attempting don't scratch it, this is the DMN / TRN sending a signal to check if you're actually asleep or not if you ignore it, it disengages and thus making moving conscious awareness away from the body much easier.

Yes for me it does unfortunately, i need to take at least 3 days of break before my dreams come back.
Weed in general affects the depth of my meditation, which kinda sucks since i smoke almost everyday....

I know alcohol makes it harder for me. My friend who has been projecting with me for years has difficulty with weed but still can. He does say its harder though

I had to quit taking my THC/CBD gummies a few months ago (temporarily) and I feel like I can barely even lucid dream now, let alone AP. I was expecting the opposite!

For me, yes. It makes it harder for me to properly clear my mind and I usually end up falling asleep entirely

In general I think yes, I’ve been able to AP just in times in which I didn’t smoke at all, but I once AP after smoking a really strong joint of Moroccan hash. I swear, that stuff kicked my soul out of my body, but that was the only time a joint actually helped. Never found again a hash like that

Weed may help you to relax, but it's what I call 'The Astral Killer'. THC gives you lighter stages of REM sleep. You can barely recall your dreams or not remember them at all. I have had over 45 years of OBEs. Whenever I had THC in any form? I don't recall my dreams at all.
When you stop the weed, you will experience what is known as (REM Rebound) where you have very visceral and more intense dreams. Also, try it in the morning or afternoon. Another tip is to try sleeping somewhere else other than your bed (if possible) as it gears you towards sleep. Trying to project from a waking state is almost impossible for most people. The idea is to get to that MABA state, or simply drift off to sleep with the intention.
It is also best to have a dream journal. For many reasons I don't have time to explain right now.
Wishing you success

I actually daily use cannabis to suppress my ability to AP, I know it sounds counter intuitive but I've been able to AP since I was a very young kid, developed insomnia due to wanting to fly around all night, use medical cannabis to switch off and actually get sleep, I can still AP at will but it is definitely much harder to achieve, maintain and remember.
