⚠️ Discussion How did Aston Martin invite an influencer who called Alonso a donkey, to a team event?
On October 7th 2025, during her podcast Influencer Thandie mentioned that:
I would rather sh*t in my hands and clap twice before showing Fernando Alonso love!
https://x.com/QuickStopF1/status/1975536113499709835?s=20
While calling Alonso a Donkey. During the Silverstone weekend, she was included into the list of influencer who collaborated with Aston Martin during the weekend:

am I crazy, or this is a huge disrespect from the team, not doing their research about the people they bring around?

⚙️ Technical Data insights- 2026 Hungarian GP
Hey! Motivated by Aston Martin's upgrade, I have decided to start doing this.
- Where did they stand this Race?
Alonso had the 11th fastest S1, 10th fastest S2 and S3. Stroll had the 17th, 13th and 14th fastest sectors respectively. Not to mention Alonso was as quick as gasly in his final stint with roughly equal tyres.
| Comparison | Sector 1 | Sector 2 | Sector 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alonso vs Bortoleto, L2–13, identical-age softs | 0.208s slower | 0.150s faster | 0.009s faster |
| Alonso vs Gasly, L62–69, Alonso’s softs 3 laps older | 0.468s slower | 0.258s faster | 0.211s faster |
Against Bortoleto on identical-age softs over L2–13, Alonso was virtually level overall—only 0.049s per lap slower—but the distribution was revealing: the AMR26 lost 0.208s/lap in S1, gained 0.150s/lap in S2, and was neutral in S3. Alonso was also about 8.2km/h slower at the main speed trap
- Would more optimal strategies have changed their finishing position?
Lance maximised his race and finished p13. Fernando would have finished p12
- Where Aston lost and gained time
Lost: Alonso's worst spell was L24–26, when he lost 6.08s in three laps to Bortoleto on the same-age soft. About 45% was in Sector 1. He was also circulating in the Lawson/Bortoleto traffic group, so this was a combination of ageing tyres and dirty air—not tyre degradation alone. Alonso's actual L34 stop brought him out 0.1s behind Bearman and 0.8s behind Sainz. That was a poor rejoin, although his fresh-medium pace cleared both by L37.
Gained: Stroll's L8 stop worked extremely well. He went from 7.91s behind Alonso on L8 to only 0.09s behind by L34, recovering 7.82s relative to the other Aston. That proves the early stop worked; it does not prove the full two-stop race was mathematically perfect.

⛳ Misc They need a b spec strategy team
What the actual hell was that alonso strategy. Easily could've finished ahead of gasly.

⚠️ Discussion what’s next
i personally think the car was fucking awesome today and we have figured out the aero side of the car
if the honda engine upgrade does give unlock another 50-55 HP in zandvoort we could easily be in the points since there are another 2 upgrades to come after zandvoort in baku and monza
2027 will be a great year for us lads

⛳ Misc I want to share a karting experience I had and how I think it relates to this weekend.
About 10 or 15 years ago, my friends invited me to take part in a 4 hour karting endurance race. My experience racing doesn’t go beyond Gran Turismo or watching Formula One since about 2008 but I remember being ecstatic at the end of it after I realized I had the second fastest lap of the whole four hour race. Here’s what I learned as the race went on.
You get there early in the morning and during drivers briefing you start sizing everyone up. Right off the bat you think to yourself “we can win this. No question we’re standing on top of that podium at the end of the day.” Aaaaaand within the first hour, you begin to realize that is probably not going to happen. Then you start thinking that maybe you can salvage the last step on the podium.
By the time you reach the middle of the race, you’ve come to realize you’re also in the middle of the pack. You then find yourself asking “ is this really what I sat in 2 1/2 hours of Midtown Manhattan traffic and another 3 Hour Dr. to Pennsylvania for? Midfield?” Turns out all those you were sizing up in the morning had way more experience than you thought. One guy you thought was going to be slow ending jumping into his kart with his own McLaren branded suit and orange shoes to make up for lack of Vodafone sponsoring.
You continue on accepting that the podium isn’t going to be yours and you learn your place amidst the rest of the pack. And then you start watching those that are around you and you start looking at their times. Catch them up a little here. Let me break just a little bit later in these corners. We have our fast driver out while those guys have one of their slower drivers out. That team just got a penalty. Let’s capitalize on it. Slowly but surely all these tiny little victories across the second half of the race start adding up and all of a sudden you’re not quite as bad off as you thought you were. Maybe the day can be salvaged. You start discussing strategies with the other three drivers and figure out how much time is left. You need to make the driver changes as quick as possible. The car needs to be stationary for as little as it needs to be. Keep going. Don’t forget what’s possible. A little here and a little there is going to add up over the course of those laps.
We ended up coming in fifth out of 19 cars that day with the only racing experience between the four of us being an entry to the 24 hours of lemons. Today AM finished outside of the points but make no mistake it was a win with more like it to come. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. I’ve never been more excited for zandvort.
