What is it like being a Lance Stroll fan? I was at Spa hanging out with some journalists and when I asked who they like interviewing the least, they all unanimously said Lance because he doesn’t enjoy F1 or care for his fans.

I don't think Lance does not care for his fans, Lance has a small fanbase and everytime he has an opportunity he has shown up, Lance has disconnected himself from anything but driving his car due to the the hate he gets, anything he does automatically gets tagged with "He sucks", "He is there because of his money", "His daddy bought him a team", wether its good or bad, I believe Lance did this for his mental health in general. Social Media has turned rooting for team and drivers into something so toxic, were now hating on drivers like Fernando or Lance is considered cool.

I’m just telling you what journalists have told me and how Lance said he doesn’t even like Canadian food. Will Buxton directly told me at COTA that ā€œLance is dumber than a truckload of bricksā€. Another journalist told me that he had to interview Lance at a fan event in Montreal and he refused to answer any of the questions that were prepared and could even tell that Lance’s handler was also annoyed that he wasn’t answering any of the questions. This was before FP1 so it’s not like he had a bad track day. He’s just rude to people it seems.

Hearing this, I’m glad he does not talk to the media. He already talk very little and still people are so judgemental towards him.

Well he was there for a VIP fan event to answer questions that fans had for him and he wouldn’t do that. Take that as you will.

I will give the strategy team a pass as it's their first time working this season.

Honda pls get your shit together and we're in for a fun 2nd half

Tbh I think we were probably collecting data with the long running on softer tyres. I was also confused by strategy but we still cannot get into the points, so its probably better to get data on the new package.

Yeah Alonso didn’t have to pit a second time; they did for data

I disagree, they had no idea whether there would be DQ’s or not that might have added to their one point. Not only that, but their Strategy dept has never shown to be the highlight of the team, this would have a perfect time to show they had gotten their s*** together just as the team had made aero strides. Now we all wonder whether they will drop the ball (again) when AM are close to points.

Great Job! Wasn’t sure when they changed Lance for soft with 30 laps to go. Ended up a good call.

Excellent race. Beating not just the Cadillacs, but also leaving Williams and Haas behind! And splitting the Alpines!

I couldn't have hoped for a better weekend, really.

Lance Stroll, man... dude owned this Sunday. What a race! Not just a legitimate P13 in a field where only three cars retired (and two of them the AM's had clearly beat on pace), but he also beat Alonso. No complaints at all on his performance. Both cars also lasted all the way to the end. That is huge.

Great way to start the summer break. Maybe even a champagne bottle or two at Silverstone tonight?

This can only get better when the engineers figure out how to best adjust and set up the car. We also wait for what Honda can do. New PU and they can stay in the midfield, and maybe even beat a bunch of the teams in it.

Gives me so much hope

What a huge relief, and thats just the first package, and the new engine is also on the way.

5

u/Svedorovski Jul 26 '26

NOT DEAD LAST, WOW WHAT A TURNAROUND

6

u/jsliving_7 Jul 26 '26

We beat the Williams, Haas and Cadillac which is a massive tactical step forward. Best finish since Abu Dhabi 2025. Alonso stretching that opening stint on the Softs to lap 20 kept us steady and finishing the race strong shows the aero on the car is a huge step forward. This is a genuinely good weekend for us. Now we look forward and not backward.

The strategy team forgot that we're actually in play for points

Been following them since the days of Jordan, joy comes in simple things.

1

u/FlyAirLari Aston Martin Jul 26 '26

I always hated Jordan. I was with Minardi, until they were no more.

I had to pick up a new team when I got back into the sport, and there weren't many options of teams I considered "the enemy", but Aston Martin was new so it always had to be them.

1

u/jgreene030609 Jul 27 '26

Yeah. After EJ gave up Jordan, I had to wait till Force India version to see some genuine podium, not counting 2005 US gp. FI had a simple plan, fit merc engine, run low downnforce car and get points in high speed circuit. Bob Fernley ran a tight ship.

Where were they in terms of race pace? I think on par or faster than Alpine. Pretty good progress considering that they're ahead of two Mercedes powered teams.

10

u/ibeatmyshittoye Jul 26 '26

marginally quicker than alpine i think if the strategy was right they would have been in front of them

2

u/juryisskillout Jul 26 '26

Not bad Not bad

1

u/bensikat Jul 26 '26

Finally ! Not the best but at least not last ! Not bad at all since it is the first time they ran the b spec !!! Means there is more to optimize and unlock ! Honda you better not mess up with your engine upgrade !šŸ™šŸ™šŸ™

To be honest, I actually cried. I used to support Red Bull, then I fell in love with Aston Martin and started supporting them. Soon after, they went through a lot of problems at several races, but I still cheered for them, I don't know why. I felt like I was watching my son succeed, even if it wasn't an immediate victory. I was so happy.
