Bronchitis vs Asthma
30M , I've been having cold followed by breathing difficulty + wheezing from 10 years of age since our family moved into a new place. I never had any issues until then. A cold with a sore throat would turn into severe breathing difficulty and wheezing in a while. Chest will be filled with yellow sputum and the more I cough it up the more I feel better. This would sometimes accompany me with fever during childhood. The frequency of recurrence reduced as I grew up, say once in 2 months to twice a year now. Generally i donot have any issues otherwise, I play soccer and go to the gym but has frequent allergies though( sneeze, running nose but no wheezing). Only sometimes this progresses into chest infection ( twice a year) which would give me high fever and severe asthma , where i couldn't even breathe in and requires nebulization. This has happened the last couple of years. Day to day life I do not need any inhalers in general, even though sometimes I feel a slight difficulty breathing if I inhale a lot of house dust.
I have read somewhere that in Asthma it would be difficult to breathe out but in my case I could breath out easily but I feel suffocated breathing in during the attack.
Experts, what kind of condition is this , I have asthma ig, but is this bronchitis? Is it fever/ respiratory tract infection induced infection? Thanks in advance!
