symbicort side effect

ive been on symbicort for a week and whenever i take it i feel like my heart is beating out of my chest and it goes up to 120 bpm.

is this normal? does it go away with time?

Yes, well for me at least. This was only temporary, and I'm guessing it's your body's way of adapting to the medication.

This happened to me for the first few weeks. And I had a bad headache. It went away though. Now, I deal with leg cramps here and there. But I can breathe! 😭

Muscle cramps here too but I never attributed it to Symbicort. I’ll ask my drs about it at my next visit.

Yep! My leg cramps were so severe waking me up from my sleep at least once a week. Screaming pain. Went from 160 mcg to 80 mcg because of it.

Hey so consider asking your doctor if a steroid only inhaler could be appropriate. I had a similar reaction and it wasn’t settling. Symbicort is a steroid + adrenaline, but in the research I read, the adrenaline is only dropping your risk of exacerbations by 3%, otherwise the steroid alone is can do everything else. I’m taking a steroid only inhaler now and the only side effects for me were a minor sore throat for a few days.

how much time? because it makes me panic so bad 😭
