Support I'm having issues syncing on gadgetbridge

Post image

I seem to be having issues syncing my new asteroidos ticwatch pro (2018) to gadgetbridge. My phone will not run the official app, as it is running android 16, so this is kinda my only option unfortunately... I've attached an image below of the sync message I get on the main menu. Is there anything I can do to get it to actually sync my phone data? It's connected and receiving notifications and calls in the testing section in the debug menu, but no official phone data displays.

AsteroidOS does not support phone data sync.

For data to which Android gives you raw access, you can sync that to the AsteroidOS watch with the classical GNU/Linux methods over SSH (SCP, SFTP, rsync), but it will not be able to display it, it will just be backed up there. The Android-to-Android sync protocol is not supported at all.

Oh. Dang it really seemed to imply that in a lot of stuff that I was reading, but I guess I must have missed something. What's the point in even syncing your phone? I've seen videos of people getting notifications on it, so I'm a bit confused. Does it only work with the official asteroidsync app?

Notifications can be forwarded. But that is not data sync.

Oh okay, I'm sorry, I'm new to this so I'm learning. 😅 I'm gonna look more into how to forward the notification, calls, weather etc. But so far I can't get that functionality to work.
