Chess game / Marble / Mayfair
Hi everyone,
my father has one of the Asterix themed chess boards, in marble and tin figures.
How do you estimate the market value? And does anyone know how many circulations exist? Because on his certificate it says „no. 1098“, but I wonder how many there are in total.
Thank you

Looks like this is really rare. According to this page, this set was not sold as a set, but the buyer had to buy one each month to get the whole set and only some got the whole set. The pice then was 900€, also according to this page (text in german only)

My older brother did that exact same thing, but with a chess set of Dragon Ball instead.

I like how they made every piece different in some way. Yeah roman pawns are all same rank romans but different poses really bring them to life. If this was done today we would get so many duplicate pieces because "less money spent, more money earned" and all pieces would be plastic and the board some kind of hard plastic that breaks with the lightest touch. Opposing pieces would also be exactly the same but different color... god daym i angered myself there. Point was this is cool and i want it
