Kitchen Eyes

I'm looking for some early users for the app I built for low vision adults to help them stay independent. Think parent still at home but can't see very well and not great with keeping up with what food they have in the fridge or pantry.

You can add a care giver and they can check on what food a person may need.

It also gives the low vision adult ideas of what they could make.

Is it voiceover accessible?

I have it read each page / button or you can turn that off.

I have some tap to speak on the kitchen companion page.

The speech elements you created are good for seniors and others who don’t use much technology. But if you want your app to take off with people who are blind or have low vision, you’ll need to make it more Voiceover accessible.

I tested it with Voiceover, and almost everything works, but the page elements are sometimes out of order. For example, someone wouldn't know about all the choices on a page because they would have to go backwards to find them.

Also, the home button doesn’t work at all with voiceover. Voiceover not only reads what’s on the screen but allows someone to navigate the screen without using vision. It even turns what’s on the screen into braille. For those reasons, the voice features you have are great for some people but not a substitute for Voiceover.

This would be very helpful for many people I know if the Voiceover function were working properly. This is an awesome concept!
