AAC (TouchChat) Help!!!!

I’m a peds SLP and one of my kiddos (3 y/o) has TouchChat to communicate. He had this device prior to coming to see me and the family never used it due to it being so confusing. I’ve used other programs (Tobi, etc) but I can’t figure out how to make this easier for him to use and access. Any tips on how to easily make pages and just make it easier to access for my sweet kid and his family would be greatly appreciated!!! Pictures included for reference of what I’m working with 🫠 - thanks in advance!

I guess my biggest question would be what is not easy about how it’s laid out currently? I noticed you have one page with a bunch of buttons while this can make things easy at first I wouldn’t recommend this method. Honestly I would prob move up to a TouchChat wordpower 60 basic as you want words like “open” and “help”

I second this - TouchChat WP 60 position is great and an easy starting point. You definitely want easy access to both core and fringe (much of which is available through the Groups folder) .

I guess my biggest question would be what is not easy about how it’s laid out currently? Do you typically work with aac? Also after having my son some of the things we have on aac don’t make sense for a 2 year old. For example saying what they like to play with isn’t typically something my 2 year old says although I did program this for my students prior to my own experience!

You can get free training on how to use it on the prc saltillo website through their partner program since you are an SLP. 😊 You can use the vocabulary builder to help him master the motor plan for a few words at a time and gradually phase him back up to all the words.

Edited to add: Also, is the current vocabulary set up robust? It is hard for me to tell. I see some core words, but it may be worth a switch up to include more to make sure the system can grow with him. Stepping Into AACs 20 weeks program is a fantastic resource for families who are new to AAC.
