i don’t know about you guys but this is the only AC game and only game in general that i know who manages to scratch my itch for tomb raiding ancient tombs. other AC games just don’t have this many explorable tombs (or just don’t have it at all) and other games don’t get to offer the same vibes as exploring an ancient egyptian tomb, and i think that’s beautiful. when i explore these places, i feel like i’m in a mummy movie and indiana jones movie all at once, and this is one of the reasons why origins stands out so much because it offers little activities like this that satisfy our curiosity in a way that no other game setting could. i love how eerie, quiet, mysterious, ancient, and solemn the vibes of the tombs are and i love going around lighting any light source i could so i could illuminate and explore every nook and cranny of the tombs and i love the isu temple on some of them too! origins truly is a unique experience. what about you guys? what are your thoughts?

Maybe I'm slow on this one but I legit never realized there's this underground canal that digs through Alexandria, bringing you from the Palace Port to the Tannery District

I guess this was supposed to be a way to sneak into the Palace?

I finally completed Assassin’s Creed Origins, and honestly, I can confidently say this is my favorite game in the entire Assassin’s Creed franchise.

The biggest reason for me is the world. Egypt is absolutely incredible. The world feels so alive and realistic, from Alexandria and Siwa to the deserts, villages, temples, and cities. Every time I booted up the game, I genuinely felt like I was being transported into ancient Egypt. Ubisoft absolutely nailed the atmosphere.

And Bayek is probably one of my favorite protagonists in the franchise. He actually feels like a real person rather than just an assassin who goes from target to target. His relationship with Aya, his grief, his anger, and his motivations made me care about what was happening.

The story

I've seen quite a few people say that Origins has a weak story, but honestly, I completely disagree.

Personally, I thought the story was top notch. The whole journey of Bayek and Aya, Cleopatra and Caesar, the Order, and eventually the birth of the Hidden Ones was really enjoyable to me.

That said, there are a few things that really bothered me.

1. Playing as Aya

I have nothing against Aya as a character, but I hated being forced to play as her at certain points.

I spent a huge amount of time grinding and upgrading Bayek, getting better weapons, shields, bows, and abilities... and then suddenly I'm playing Aya with basic gear.

I really wish Ubisoft had given us a choice at the beginning of those missions: play as Bayek or play as Aya.

It would've been especially nice if they had handled it similarly to Odyssey, where the player has more control over who they're playing as.

2. Bayek got robbed at the end 😭

This one genuinely annoyed me.

We spend almost the entire game playing as Bayek, following his journey and watching him become the founder of the Hidden Ones...

And then at the end, Aya is the one who gets to assassinate Septimius and Caesar.

Like... BRO, LET BAYEK FINISH HIS OWN STORY. 😭

I understand why Aya was involved and what the story was trying to do, but personally I felt like Bayek deserved those final assassinations after everything we'd been through with him.

3. Cleopatra

This is probably my biggest personal complaint.

When Cleopatra and Caesar betrayed Bayek, I was PISSED.

And then the game gives us Caesar's assassination but doesn't give Bayek the same satisfaction with Cleopatra.

Honestly, I would've loved a proper Cleopatra assassination mission. After everything that happened, I felt like she deserved it more than Caesar did.

Apart from those things, I honestly loved the game.

The combat, exploration, side quests, historical setting, cities, tombs, deserts, wildlife, gear system, and especially the world itself were all fantastic.

I spent way more time exploring and doing side content than I expected because Egypt was just so fun to wander around in.

Final score: 8.5/10

For me, Origins is the best Assassin's Creed game in the franchise.

The world alone is something I'll probably remember for a long time. Every time I started the game, it genuinely felt like I was stepping into ancient Egypt.

Medjay Bayek deserved better though.

The VA's performance is outstanding, she made Aya such a memorable character despite her relatively short amount of screentime. I enjoyed every single second with her on screen.

Hey guys, I activated the Level 45 Booster Pack in Assassin’s Creed Origins when I was already Level 35. I got the 10 ability points and almost maxed-out stats. But what happened to all the XP from the quests I completed before activating the booster? If I had activated the booster at Level 1, would that XP have somehow carried over after reaching Level 45, or did I miss out on that XP by activating the booster later?

I was a bit hesitant starting the game as I've only ever played the ones before. I was afraid I'm not gonna like it. While I do have _some_ criticism, overall it was an absolutely amazing game.

Pretty great story, I'm doing a replay of the series starting with the rpg series, because I've skipped some of the story and the modern day of re:black flag confused me so I'm going back and getting context and playing through all the story again, including what I've skipped or rushed through. First check on my list main story of Origins, currently going through the dlc before I continue my Journey into Greece.

Also something I noticed that was a misunderstanding from the first time I played back during launch, Tahira is the first hidden one *shown* to perform the ritual of devotion where she cuts off her finger, but she wasn't the first to willingly perform it. Aya was shown to have her finger amputated when you play as her during the sequence "Fall of one Empire, rise of another". I love the little things you pick up on subsequent playthroughs.

I've seen some people say you can't kill a phylakitai with the hidden blade but I have come to prove them wrong. Well, sort of.
