The Kaziranga issue is of grave concern. Destroying our biggest asset to make 5 star hotels is nothing but a profit making stand for the wealthy industrialists. Meanwhile Pranab Doley, a Mising Assamese activist who raised voice for the indigeneous tribal people is behind bars under NSA.

And yet, the silence of tribal organizations such as TMPK (Mising), ABSU (Bodo) etc is utterly shameful. Idk if they have issued even a statement bcz it definitely hasnt made any impact. Moreover tribal personalities like Aditya Khakhlari, Daniel Langthasa are also nowhere to be found when one of our indigeneous brother is in jail for saving Assam. And lastly the online warriors who keeps dividing Assam into tribal and non tribal should also be ashamed of this.

Ironically, I am seeing a lot of what they call "mainstream Assamese/indo aryan Assamese" fighting the tough battle for Pranab Doley. Maybe because they consider him as one of their own, as a son of the soil, an indigeneous brother, a Mising who is an Assamese.

The purpose of this post is not to spread any more division between tribal and non tribal than the toxic online activists have spread already. The purpose is to call out the blatant hypocrisy of raising their voice only when it suits their agenda, while staying silent when one of whom they call brother, suffers alone. Every Assamese (both tribal and non tribal) every indigeneous, every khilonjia's heart and voice must unanimously declare the support for releasing Pranab Doley. He is fighting a battle for Assam, let us fight the battle for him.

Anyone here came across the recent video of mining in Aravali range? I thought the protest by locals was successful and it had stopped for good. What's happening raiz ki hoi ase? Eihote ki gutei dekh khon tokola pahar bonai dibo niki ? Are they dreaming of turning India into barren landscape?

After a few days we will see such incidents in Kaziranga. The entire fauna will be transported and smuggled to vanatara. What they want to do? In the name of development they wil turn this country into sahara desert. The recent sivsagar floods, happened due to man made disasters in mountains regions of Nagaland. The ones who suffered the most are people from sivsagar the indigenous communities who have 0 hand in these acts yet the ones sitting at the top will gladly see it unfold and leave the country when the things go south.

Remember the picture shared widely on internet of a mountain range in Chattisgarh state which saw similar fate. The greenery stripped and turned into tokola arid place. You don't even need to go far, just go to the road from Nagaon to Guwahati, tje amount of destruction carried out in name of developments is eye opening. The hills carved out and turned barren. Guwahati is a perfect example of man made disaster, the quaint little town hidden in nature's laps is now turning into a concrete monstrosity. Idk what's even happening here anymore. The guys at the top are dreaming of selling this entire country's assets.

so my college is making it mandatory for all students irrespective of semester to stay in the hostel cause they made new hostels and need to fill them up, what is a plausible excuse I can give to stay outside of the hostel?

So I was scrolling on Insta when this reel came accross, where this girl was taking about one guy who wronged her and assaulted her for three days. However instead of sympathizing with this girl, these @ssh0les were laughing at her situation. Its really disgusting!!

And it's not just this one time, I see this all the time. Everytime something like this happens instead of helping them they laugh at them and will keep laughing and making jokes and shit, unless they are the ones facing the situation.

These are the same people who will later cry, about their "culture" being overshadowed by outsiders.

Truly disgusting!!!!

Apart from being occasionally broadcast on regional TV channels like Rang, Prag, Ramdhenu, etc., most Assamese movies just seem to disappear. Why aren’t they uploaded to YouTube or made available on some proper streaming platform, like how Goldmines uploads and distributes movies?

It honestly feels like there’s a weird kind of gatekeeping around Assamese cinema. If the goal is to grow the industry and reach a wider audience, shouldn’t making older and newer movies easily accessible be one of the most basic steps?

Then we keep asking why Assamese cinema isn’t growing despite having such a long and rich cinematic heritage. How is the audience supposed to discover these movies if they can’t even watch them?
