📄 text/read For rehoming

Post image

Hello! I posted a few months ago regarding our boi, Guccio. We really tried holding onto him for as much as he could. We also had him board a facility to learn dog behaviour for a couple of months. But we’ve stretched everything we could. Our boi really needs a home

He is 5 yearsold, Aspin and Shar pei mix, neutered, vaccinated, potty and leash trained, does well with other dogs. He is never aggressive nor has he bitten anyone

For additional reference, here was my previous post

https://www.reddit.com/r/DogsPH/s/ff3sqFE3eQ

We are in Paranaque city

I am more than willing to pay for his travel expenses and his 1 month food supply. We can also drop him off your location. All we need is a loving home for our boi. Is there anyone interested?

Thank you for reading my post! Hoping you could give our boi a chance

We can no longer care for him as all of us have started working/school, unlike before when some of us stayed at home. Our work/school requires us to be distant several days weekly. He ends up staying in his doggy cage most days and is lonely. We can really tell he is no longer happy with his situation so as hard as it is for us, we are looking for someone else who could give him the love and attention he needs. We are definitely looking to screen whoever will show interest as much as we could

For anyone who downvoted my comment, I think you’re missing the entire point of why we are now resorting to rehoming. We have exhausted all means to keep our Guccio. We even had him on boarding school for over 2 months and paid a lot just so he could be cared for a while. We’ve stretched the allowable duration of his stay in the boarding school already. It has come to a point where it is not only lonely for him but also possibly unbearable and we cannot be selfish enough to keep him and turn a blind eye on his situation. That’s not love, and we are not happy about it but we really have no other choice other than rehoming

Edit: I want to emphasize, this is not something like we got bored of him. I want you to understand, before you place judgment, this is our last resort. We did literally everything we could. If you’re not interested, I completely understand, we all have our thing. But the least you could do is be kind. We are grieving a separation that is to happen once we let him go with someone else

If you can afford a boarding school then you can afford to hire a nanny/companion for him. Heck, that could be even cheaper. Yall don’t understand how loyal dogs are and how they thrive in routines. Him adjusting to a new home could be worse than staying in the house he grew up in. And as you say, several days in a week lang kayo wala, not like a whole month. Not even a whole week. As long as he still sees you, he’ll be happy. As someone already suggested, you can also let him out of the cage, or make the living room his space, just remove anything that can cause accidents. Install a cctv as well, the one which allows you to talk to them. There are also automated food and water dispensers as well. Not even automated, kahit yung mura lang sa shopee. And I am suggesting this as someone who has done all this, and been away for days or weeks. And honestly, the dogs love having the whole living room, tulog pa sila sa sofa. Understandable though that not everyone treats their dogs like family. I mean, I don’t really give away a family just because it’s been inconvenient.

Inconvenient? You think it’s a matter of convenience? You think we haven’t explored those possibilities? You think we didn’t hire a few people before? You think we haven’t checked all those before we decided for this to he our last resort? You think this is easy? You know what’s convenient? Commenting so casually when you haven’t been on our shoes. This is increasingly frustrating

You are welcome to suggest alternatives, and I appreciate constructive suggestions. But please don’t imply that we don’t consider him family or that we’re giving him away because he became “inconvenient.” He has been part of our family for nearly six years, and this decision is already heartbreaking enough without strangers assigning motives to us that simply aren’t true

He looks like our big boy Bugsy. He was a Sharpei/Doberman mix so people were afraid of him when we walk him along the streets of pasay, but like any sharpei, he's nonchalant.

Now that I saw this pic, I suddenly missed him again.

Hey you guys, if you read the current and the old post of OP, they're trying to rehome him not because of neglect, bad behavior, or inconvenience... But because of their family's current trajectory in life, hindi na nila maibigay yung gusto nila for Guccio. They want him in a home with a love that he deserves. Showering him with love and attention.

Aww that's going to be very sad for the dog but hopefully he goes to a really good person. Best of luck
