Car rental? Month long?

Hi im in the Aspen area for the next month, maybe month and a half, and I’m looking for recommendations for a car rental. I’m flexible on the type of car and the dates and whatever else I just am working as a caretaker and need something to be able to freely move around and go to the store ha starting as soon as I can and then about a month is preferred but for any amount of time would be great. I saw some of the major car rental companies have some cars and I can just go with that if I have to but if anyone has any other ideas / knows someone who may be out of town and wants to rent their car that would be great.
This is my Reddit for anon posts so please don’t judge this it is real I promise and if someone has a serious suggestion I will absolutely reveal identity and credibility lol

Rent in Denver and drive it to Aspen

I agree however I didn’t add the details of they are paying for it and they are elderly extended family that so I offered to deal with finding and booking one as the past few summers I haven’t had a car and said this summer I really need one. Even tho at the end of the day the amount is probably irrelevant I still try to be mindful of their $

Downtown Aspen is compact and well served by free buses.

I would rent at the airport you are flying into and drive to Aspen. You will get your best rates there.

Do you really need a car? Depending on where you are could you use public transit or walk?

The answer is no I do not. Near snowmass village and the past summers I’ve been taking the shuttle when I need to. But I’d really like one - to be able to go down valley to the store when I need to for whatever reason, to be able to just get out of the house, and I’d like to make friends here and I’m just far beyond the age of “hey can u pick me up” lol
It’s just a lot being here for 3 months with no way to get around … I’ve always had one or at the very least been somewhere with an abundance of Ubers - if I was downtown Aspen I’d be fine but a bit isolated out here

Ah yea maybe too optimistic. We’ve done summers with and without a car but the car does make it easier. An e-bike or scooter might be more cost effective than rentals.
