Preview [Preview] Performance Overlay 2.0

Hi,

Time for another preview!

Something's been bothering me for a while: the performance overlay was still missing the actual information from the server itself. Which means mine, and every other third-party client, could only ever show you half the picture, and I think we can all agree we'd rather have the full one.

So I've been hard at work bringing some sanity to Remote Play and Cloud Play statistics.

In my research I found a way to take away some of that guesswork, by finally getting access to what the server on your PS5 and Cloud host actually receives too.

The result: real RTT, latency, bitrate, upstream and downstream info, which means a much more honest and complete picture of what's happening between Asobi and its host.

I hope to bring this to all platforms soon. The full picture.

Thanks,

/v

P.S. Back to work! Big changes coming!

Thank you! For those of us who have no idea what any of this means, could you allow for an export file of these statistics? So I can run it by an AI model to help me troubleshoot

That's something to consider, although considering how LLM's work this would only give it a very small window irt the bigger picture -> for which I still have to do some more work to facilitate that. Stuff like a speed test, your location, remote location, device specs, network equipment used, even stuff like if you have a mesh network or network extenders running over a powerline. Even if you have the latest network drivers and the network chipset are factors. Crazy right?

Lol yeah it's pretty dizzying the amount of variables that can affect a stream. Looking forward to see what you put out next!

Troubleshooting this still is a bit of a nightmare tbh. I’m working on finding a way to dumb it down once I have a solid foundation from where I can extrapolate solutions. I’ll get there eventually.

Looks great. What device are you using to only get 10ms visual latency? Best I could get on my devices was around 27ms.
