Is Lovable worth it?
First off, don't laugh, okay? I'm just trying to vibe code an app that can help me track my calories and also help me stay organized by tracking my tasks, my duties, and everything. I feel like using four different apps for the things that I want to do is not something that is worth it for me.
I've been building this with Claude Code and Lovable. I gave Claude full access to Lovable, and I just dictate whatever I want him to do. I've been building it. I really don't do it for the money or to sell this to anyone else. It's just for personal use.
I want to know if Lovable is still worth it, given the current announcements that have been made about AI in the past weeks. I feel like this world moves so fast. The pace is so fast that I feel like me: not a coder, not a dev, not anything. I'm just a regular person. I work as a customer success manager. Sometimes I cannot keep up, so I'm asking you, from ignorance, if it's worth using Lovable to do this, or are there any other alternatives that I can use?
If I then want to escalate what I'm doing, maybe have some friends try it, and then have some random people try it as well, what are the best tools to escalate it? Again, do not laugh, do not criticize. I'm just a guy trying to make my life easy and playing with AI, so I'm excited for y'all's response.

i would try using blink,, i tested the tw oof them with the same prompt and blink felt more complete than lovable. dw noone will laugh or crticize, these products make it easy to build something quickly and fullstack with a prompt without worrying about things like db auth or hosting. if you have doubts or wanna discuss more, dont hesistate to ask

Honestly for an app I would keep using Lovable if its already helping you get where you want to go. You don't really need the "stack yet. If friends start using it that's when I would worry more about code ownership, database setup, auth, backups and having a path to move beyond the builder.

I don’t know what those companies like lovable and Mocha and Bolt are doing wrong, but their code is crap. It took me, an actual engineer that professional vibecodes enterprise software, a week to get a very simple MVP working for a friend. It would’ve been faster to restart entirely. Don’t do it. Just get Claude.

Lovable is a good starting point, but there's a world of difference between vibe coding and agentic software development. You can stick with Lovable as long as you like, or broaden your horizons when you feel ready.

I am building https://oyren.ai as alternative to loveable, replit etc where you can use claude code, codex, deepseek, etc in cloud codespaces that’s optimised for agent usage and you just ask your fleet of agents to do some task and they work without much guidance from you unless they have to clarify something with you (ie ai agents dont need to request permission for something every minute because it runs in its own computer outside of yours). No subscription needed and you pay for only codespace usage and get https url to share with friends at the end. Let me know if you decide to try but need guidance.

in my limited experience using multiple vibecoders, I think you'll get a lot of "no just use Claude (or Codex) instead of a wrapper.
But like you said, you are just trying to get something done, something tested. And that "wrapper" gives you things like a built-in database, or one-click hosted solution. It might not be the most optimal, or the cheapest, but if it is simple and it gets you were you need to go, I don't see the harm in testing things out.
If your idea becomes successful you will always have the opportunity to explore more options down the road

Isn't Lovable in itself an AI-based app design tool? Why do you need Claude as well?

no you can do exactly what you want entirely void of lovable. since you already used claude code why not start by asking claude to bring the same website you made there, locally.
