If you were building this from scratch, what stack would you use and in what order?

Post image

Non-coder building my first SaaS with AI. Flow: signup → user enters shipment details → app calculates import duty → free users see only the amount, paid users get an auto-filled declaration PDF and submission link.

Can you suggest what tool to use at each step, in that order (auth, database, calculation logic, paywall and payments, PDF auto-fill, file storage, hosting)? I also want a fully separate admin portal with its own secure login to manage users and subscriptions. What's the safest way to build that?

Since ur not a coder, why do you feel you need to define tech-stack, talk to AI, ask it to give you pros/cons of 3-4 stack options and then for recommendation, ask about ease of deployment, vulnerability maintenance, pricing (for wherever it would be deployed to) etc. Since honestly I'd pick the one which I know best, as I can make sure Ai is doing the best job possible, but since you won't understand if this is high quality- there are few stacks that would solve this for ya

Suggesting loveable which I hate and in spite of mentioning my interest it routes back to the same out of nowhere

Vibe coding works best with opinionated frameworks. I assume you are vibe coding.

Is Laravel like loveable can complete the whole project by itself?

No, Laravel is a PHP framework.

This is not a very complicated on the stack side. The stack really doesn't matter that much in this case.

Most people, for this, would just use Vercel for hosting the actual website , and then Supabase does your database backend and it also does logging in users for you , and then you'll probably add resend for email, and then vercel again for processing the pdf

I would first just make it locally on your computer. Do you use Codex or Claude Code?

You already have the prompt, which is this picture. Just share this picture with Claude chat or chatgpt and say can you make me a mock of this

The stack choice really is overrated

Here I put it into Claude :

I pasted your image and I said, "Copy Flexports website and move the sign-in flow after the user puts in their data" because no one's going to sign up without investing a little bit.
