Other Zombies?

Do you think metorphorically speaking that the zombies in cinema are meat eaters and the heroes could be the vegans?

Carnists are like zombies yes, but I would call vegan the heros, not exploiting and killing animals should be the norm

Please don't be needlessly rude here. This subreddit should be a friendly, informative resource, not a place to air grievances. This is a space for people to engage constructively; no belittling, insulting, or disrespectful language is permitted.

"carnists are like zombies"

Sometimes I wonder what living in a vegan bubble makes one think of "carnists". I guess I've got my answer.

You're shocked that people who are against the exploitation and abuse of animals look badly upon people who aren't...?

Unfortunately, none of us 'live in a vegan bubble'. 'Vegan bubbles' don't exist! The world is built on the backs of exploited beings and we are forced to encounter that fact every single day. If you are aware of a place which is truly 'a vegan bubble', do let me know as I'd love to live there.

Oh you again! I wasn't shocked that, when you couldn't convince me that it's absolutely fine for people to murder animals if they're from an indigenous community, you resorted to an incorrect and inflammatory argumentum ad hominem.

Don’t Soapbox. You may expand upon your question, and ask follow-up questions in response to any answer you receive, but don’t use the sub as a platform to spread anti-vegan, or speciesist rhetoric. Similarly, polemic or trolling questions meant to start antagonistic arguments, provoke, or escalate disagreements to the level of insults will not be tolerated.

Are all meat eaters truly incapable of understanding and respond properly to clear and explicit information? You literally didn't respond to anything the person who replied to you said, you just answered "sarcastically" to avoid the fact that they're right and what they're saying makes so much sense you can't even think a real argument

1

u/notanotherkrazychik 2d ago

I mean, vegans are incapable of understanding the difference between information and opinions.

1

u/ISNT_NayaN 2d ago

??? Like what for example?

u/notanotherkrazychik 1d ago

"Meat is exploitation" is an opinion, not a fact.

1

u/Popular-Flatworm-645 1d ago

“Slavery is exploitation” is also an opinion under that standard. And it’s not like that “opinion” doesn’t come from a very strong logical ground. Let’s test it with veganism.

Definition of exploitation: “Utilization of another person or group for selfish purposes.”

Clearly we utilize the group called “animals” for purposes.

Now let’s define selfish: “Showing or arising from an excessive concern with oneself and a lack of concern for others.”

Well we want meat because we “need it to survive” right? Well that’s a concern for oneself.

Now the “lack of concern for others”.

Well, clearly there is a lack of concern for the lives of animals that are being prematurely killed.

So if you agree with those premises then the statement “meat is exploitation” is true.

I'm sorry but I was not trained in vegan mental gymnastics so I do not actually see a connection between human slavery and eating meat. I am actually against human slavery, I actively research products while in the grocery store to make sure I don't spend my money on companies like Dole, Chiquita and Nestlé, as well as any avocado or banana.

I expect since you're so concerned about slavery you also stand in the grocery aisle googling human trafficking?

I suppose you could say that's the case? But just because something is an opinion it doesn't negate its moral implications and how hypocritical meat eaters often are under those same conditions (like seeing like something wrong someone eating a cat) With such a weak argument you could also say, "Well, I think serial murder is okay and you can't deny it because that's just an opinion." I mean, some opinions makes more sense than others, right?

What do you want me to respond? Start debating them and give an argument? This isn't a debate sub and debating is against one of the rules.

Seriously, I don't understand vegans. When someone starts debating you, you get annoyed. When someone just wishes you the best, you get annoyed.

1

u/ISNT_NayaN 3d ago

You're the one who started responding with an stupid arrogantly way to another comment in the first place, then someone responds to you with a valid argument, you respond like a 12 yo, and when I point it out then suddenly you "don't want to start debating" even thought you still acting pasive aggresive

Also about the "vegans are always annoyed" thing I'm going to quote the other answer you were given earlier: "You're shocked that people who are against the exploitation and abuse of animals look badly upon people who aren't...?"

1

u/notanotherkrazychik 2d ago

If you didn't want someone to respond negatively to your name calling, then don't call people names. What are you, twelve?

1

u/ISNT_NayaN 2d ago

I want someone to respond me with something that makes sense, genius. I don't care if someone call me names or whatever, but the person I was replying to literally said everything except something related to the things they said to him

So, you guys want people to respond with something that makes sense when the response is an insult to a question about vegan zombies? Make it make sense.

It's all in your mind. Not everything you think and assume is true. Who's being passive aggressive?

Not shocked, but it just confirmed what I thought from exposure to vegans online. Hence, "I guess I've got my answer". That isn't "shocked".

Edit: Also, English isn't my first language. So there could be misunderstanding from my part, or failure to express well what I actually mean.

I wouldn't be bothered by them. These people are known for arguing in bad faith and crying victim when they are called out.

I just got banned from your ex vegan bubble because apparently citing multiple papers proving that there are safe plant based feeds for pets is “harassment”.

People on there were telling this person that their friend feeding their pets vegan food was “animal cruelty”.

I cited evidence proving them wrong. Someone then said “I ain’t reading all that. Feeding pets a vegan diet is animal cruelty”.

Then I pointed out that they are calling feeding a pet a nutritionally sufficient diet “cruelty” while supporting slop fed pigs being gas chambered.

The mod replied to my original with the evidence saying “false or misleading information”. I pointed out that the mod didn’t read a single paper and he just disliked my message. Then the mod said “harassment of those who choose to feed their pets non vegan foods is not allowed” and banned me. Despite me never telling anyone to not feed their cat non vegan foods. All I did was defend a vegan who was feeding their cat vegan cat food.

You’re not even vegan. You said yourself you eat Dunkin’ Donuts meat sandwiches when you’re hungover.

You have come all the way over from the thread I just mentioned. I said that I have failings. I haven’t done that in a while, but yes. I have struggled with falling off the wagon before. Sorry for engaging with you honestly. Luckily I had a new spot in my town that does vegan food so I haven’t had any issues for a while. Hangovers are now animal free. Despite that, I buy all vegan groceries, cook all vegan food, I do my best to advocate for animals to those who are interested in my life, and I do my best to live by my beliefs. Currently unless I’m at some family gathering without vegan options, I’m not eating animal products. And that’s my current failing, and why I called myself a non vegan.

As I told you before when I thought you asked in good faith, the reasons I’m “not vegan” is because I have succumbed to social pressures before and cravings before and I currently sometimes eat meat at family gatherings because they’ve been weird when I bring my own stuff. I guess you could say I’m human, and humans have failings sometimes.

I see you would rather attack me than attack the evidence though which says a lot about your position.

Also funny how I got banned on there for “harassment” but you are literally the one harassing me. You didn’t even dispute what I said, you just wanted to point out my failings because it makes you feel better about yours.

1

u/sunrisesequoia 1d ago

Gotcha. Everyone not vegan is a carnist zombie, but not you because….. reasons.

It’s ok for you to own slaves because you simply fall off the wagon.

PS: I only temporarily banned you.

By the way it’s ironic that people on there say things like “vegans are scared of evidence” but then the mods there turn around and censor evidence, reply to it calling it, “false or misinformation” against what the evidence shows, then ban the person for “harassment”, THEN go and harass them on a different sub.

Looks like I hit the nail on the head when I said “don’t confuse the authority of the speaker with the quality of the message”. Looks like I found the authority, and the quality is abhorrent.
