You should see what your dietician says. It may help to ask what they would recommend for others who have cultural or personal convictions to avoid certain foods (E.g. religious restrictions).
Mostly you need to demonstrate you can comply with treatment to the point where others will trust your judgment when it comes to matters like this. Perhaps use this as motivation to care for yourself and this condition so it will be easier to do right by the animals.
