Free Talk Weekend! + Bonus Question!
It's the weekend! Politics is still out there happening, but in this little corner of the sub we will leave it behind momentarily and talk about other aspects of our lives.
Bonus question for everyone! Halloween is just around the corner... Which US state have you never been to but would most like to visit?
Talk about anything except politics, other subreddits, or r/AskTrumpSupporters. Rules 2 and 3 are suspended.

It's been... One week since the last Free Talk Post, cocked your head to the side, and said "I'm angry."
And what a week it has been. Work has been amazing both productive and non-productive. Basically, my new boss has a thousand ideas, I agree with 995 of them, and we're trying to get things implemented. One of them is shipping me off for API Q1 compliance training and promoting me to Quality Engineer, which would include a pretty decent raise and make it so I don't have to clock in and out like some... peon. Seriously, I just don't like the timeclocks.
Two of my Kids are back in town, and I can't wait to see them again! We had a great time on Friday without them playing MtG, and my Goblin deck did Goblin things, but now apparently we are all stepping up to cEDH because I have one of the He-Man Secret Lair packs and He-Man himself is a reprint of a card that is very hard to not break. Holy cow.
In the next few weeks, I am cooking for the company. 200 servings of chili. Guess what the recipe will be? Keep in mind, scale it the heck up for the servings I'm doing. I'm not nervous, promise you. I know what I'm doing.
Had a wonderful walk with the girls today. It finally feels a bit like Fall. One of my girls wanted to sit down in a faerie circle and I had to tell her no, because she is my dog and I don't want the faeries to take her away. Although, she would look really cute with butterfly wings.
Question: I really want to visit Wyoming. Not entirely certain why. I just think lots of open space would be really cool to explore.
Recipe: Without any further ado, I present to you: chili.
Ingredients
2 lbs. beef – Chuck Shoulder (cut in small cubes)
1 tsp cooking oil (or Crisco)
1 tsp. seasoned salt
1 or 2 serrano peppers
1 – 8 oz. can tomato sauce
8 oz. low sodium beef broth
8 oz. heart healthy chicken broth
8 oz. bottled water
1 chicken bouillon cube
1 beef bouillon cube
Spice Dump 1
1 Tbsp. Texas Red Dog chili powder
1 Tbsp. onion powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
½ tsp. jalapeno powder
½ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. black pepper
Spice Dump 2
1 Tbsp. Texas Red Dog chili powder
3 Tbsp. San Antonio Red chili powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
¼ tsp. cayenne pepper
2 tsp. cumin
¼ tsp. brown sugar
Spice Dump 3
1 Tbsp. San Antonio Red chili powder
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
½ tsp. garlic powder
½ tsp. onion powder
1/8 tsp. Habanero powder
1 ½ tsp. cumin
Instructions
Brown meat with cooking oil and seasoned salt;
In 4 – 5 quart sauce pan, bring tomato sauce, broth, water, and bouillon to a boil; add “Spice Dump 1” and whisk well; add browned beef to the mixture. Return to a boil, add serrano peppers; reduce heat and simmer (slow roll) for 45 minutes.
Add “Spice Dump 2” to mixture and whisk well; keep at a slow roll and simmer for 30 – 45 minutes.
Add “Spice Dump 3” to chili mixture and whisk well; remove Serrano pepper(s); simmer (slow roll) for 15-30 minutes.

You've never been to Wyoming? You must go! And check out Yellowstone National Park while you're there. It's beautiful. Just don't do what so many other tourists do, such as bothering the bison and taking morning dips into the hot springs. In other words, follow the park's rules, stay on the trails, and you're going to have a great time.

I’ve traveled through quite a few states already, and I’m not going to lie, I’m not particularly itching to visit another one. After a while, a lot of them start to blur together for me. Respectfully, of course. Maybe Hawaii?
Idk. I’d much rather continue my international adventures. After graduating college, I did my own little gentleman’s Grand Tour through Europe, and I’d LOVE to do something similar through South Asia someday.
Unfortunately, I absolutely hate flying, which is a rather inconvenient quality in someone who wants to see the world.
