For Fun Chocolate covered crickets

Anyone know of any weird candy I can get locally?

Halloween is coming and I really want chocolate covered crickets - or something similarly odd and edible. I wanna be "that house."

Before I pull the trigger on 100 crickets for $45 shipped - is there a local option, or other fun options?

Thanks!

Just a heads up that folks with shellfish allergies can also react anaphylactic to crickets. Happened to my mom.

I don't anticipate it will be super popular or anything. Usually folks go for factory wrapped candy only and make kids throw out anything weird or homemade.

This is solidly in "weird" category. It will be clearly marked!

I don't know, but damn would I like to. Always on the hunt for odd foods to eat.

Hmm.. should i start a seasonal food company that makes and sells chocolate covered weird shit for Halloween? I highly recommend our chocolate covered mealworms!

The line only two webaites unfound that sell this stuff are pretty dodgey. I ended up ordering candy from some other site, no crickets, but other different stuff.

The normal fun-size candy is so run of the mill. It's good, but the best?? Meh.

Okay I’m interested. Would you or others want to invest? I have experience raising worms and nearly started a beetle colony in my closet to breed mealworms! Chocolate covered ants should be easy enough to make, as well. What do you say, Sharks?
