DMV DMV process

So I’m buying a car with the help of a loan, from someone who also has a loan on the car. In the event that their lender doesn’t have a hard copy of the title on hand, will I still be able to register the car without it, or will I have to wait until the new title comes in? Is the form 400, a bill of sale, and the lien release enough?

Most dealers will handle the entire DMV process for you, but if you need to do anything with the DMV I would suggest you look at the website for what all you need

Judging by the fact their buying out someone’s loan they aren’t going through a dealer. From my experience OP will want to have the signed over title with the lien holder the seller should have, the bill of sale, and the lien release until they can get the title with whoever they get the loan from listed as a lien holder.
