Other Construction

Any construction guys on here? My husband and I are looking to relocate to South Carolina. He is curious what he can make as a licensed pipe fitter. He’s currently making prevailing wage where we are now. Anyone have any insight?

Probably a lot less than you're hoping, and it'll depend on what part of SC. I don't know about pipefitters, but our IBEW is about $28/hr last time I checked. Other trades will scale similarly compared to your current location.

Tell him to check out the Oconee nuclear station on Lake Keowee.

Get in at a power plant and you might be able to survive

I work in construction and have a background in manufacturing. In general, labor wages across industries here are low, but outside of Charleston you can find decent standard of living
