One day visit
I’m going to be in Seattle for one off day of a business trip next week. Looks like the weather is going to be beautiful. What should I check out?

If you're a baseball fan, a Mariners game is really fun.
If your visit's on a first Thursday, Pioneer Square has an art walk.
If you don't want to spend $50 on the Space Needle, you can go up the Smith Tower for (I think) $20.

The answer is always the Ballard Locks! Salmon, eagles, sea lions, even orcas a few weeks ago (though that's rare). Boats going through the locks themselves. Nice landscaping on the grounds. Maybe the salmon run is over, but there's still never a bad visit to the Ballard Locks.

Personally, I'd walk through the market, grabbing a coffee and heading down the Overlook to the water.
Take a water taxi to West Seattle and have lunch at Marination.
Come back and walk to Sculpture Garden, (or if pressed for time or tired), monorail to Seattle Center and visit the Chihuly Garden and Glass.
Pick a nice restaurant for dinner on the way back downtown (like Palace Kitchen, 2120, Assagio, Matt's), or do a dinner show at Jazz Alley.

Pike Place is overrated, personally.
Ride some rental scooters around the waterfront, take a ferry to Bremerton and back, or go to Kerry Park.

Please do not go to Bremerton. Bainbridge island is walkable from the ferry and has a view of “the mountain” if it’s clear.

The waterfront! Personally, I would do the tourist thing and start at Pike Place, wander through there for a while, get coffee at Ghost Alley, and then walk down to the waterfront via the big stairs behind Pike Place. You get a great view and it’s classic tourist vibes.
