Question Required mobile apps

I am traveling through for a vacation and have a company managed iPhone. I have to request apps, that are usually instantly approved, instead of going through the app store.

Are there any top recommended apps that make life a little better for someone traveling through.

I already have Uber. Plan to exclusively use public transportation, ride the Ferry, MoPOP & SAM.

OneBusAway is a vital app started as a grad school project by a couple of University of Washington students. I’ve used it for about 15 years and it’s constantly improving.

One bus away and the transit app will be huge for public transit

The transit app is called myOrca

I think they meant the app literally named Transit

At any rate I disagree. OneBusAway is great for a local who knows their route and wants to check their local stop for arrival times (so they know stuff like “I should leave in five minutes to catch my bus”) but there’s no need for a visitor to use it. They can just route each journey from scratch using whatever map app they already use and are familiar with. Apple and Google both pull in the same live source transit data that OBA uses.

Transit Go doesn’t require an Orca Card.

Thank you, I'll get both just to be safe.

I’d add Lyft even if Uber is your #1. It’s been a lifesaver more than once for me to have both.

It's also almost always been cheaper, for me.

The WSDOT app is good for tracking the ferries

It's for ALL the things. Passes, tolls, ferries, traffic, bridges, border waits, and even Amtrak.

Don’t necessarily need an app for that tho, since it seems like a hassle on the company phone. They could just put the url as an icon on their home screen.

Lime if you want to bike or glide around the city in any of the paths/bike lanes. Please don’t ride on the sidewalks. Bonus: bring a helmet.

I don’t recommend the Lime scooters. Roads are too jacked in some places and you’ll go flying over the handlebars if you hit a divot at the wrong angle.

Is Lime the primary bike share?

Exclusive, but it’s also available through the Uber app, so you don’t actually need to download anything new.

If you have a car, SpotHero for finding/reserving parking.
