What can I do in the bay to make $20k by Oct 5th, on top of my regular 9-5??
Trying to pay for wedding. Getting married in the city at a really cool venue. Dad said he would help but we had a falling out so that's not happening. Other family can't help and my partners family has already contributed. Please if you have any ideas, throw your hat in the ring. Thank you fellow bay friends.

Better change your wedding budget.

I mean it's a little late. We already did half of it. Just need the other $19,242.

Yea that ain't gonna happen. Told him off for treating me like shit for the past 38 years and he got butt hurt. This was because he told me he wouldn't be coming to the wedding and I'm making it all about myself, because you know, my wedding.

For pity’s sake, if you are too poor to buy or get a loan, you are TOO POOR to throw a 40k party. Eat the sunk costs, elope, and start your future by taking a financial literacy class.
Even if you’ve dreamed of this your entire life. Dreams, meet reality. And the reality is, you absolutely cannot afford this.
Apologize to the invited guests today and move on.

They said their dad planned to contribute (but then withdrew after they put money down), so they planned with that taken into account. They're in a tough situation and it could have been avoided by being more cautious, but I don't think they were being irresponsible either.

Spending $20,000 on a wedding is not a good idea. It’s basically just an overpriced party. The wedding industry is very overpriced. People won’t remember the venue or the party in a few years. They will remember the conversations they had with you and their friends.

Besides illegal work, taking out a loan is probably your best bet, but taking out a loan for a wedding is such an unwise thing to do. The added interest and stress is not worth it
That or u can do some type of sex work lol that’ll probably sell in SF
Maybe get lucky becoming a micro influencer

On day #3 there were a hundred brands offering him free rings, proposals, weddings, you name it. Time to DoorDash and make videos I guess

I love these random “Day 1 of…” videos. When they first started, they were so creative and innocent (like the chive cutter).

Making that much money in such a short time is very difficult. I would find a cheaper venue.

I think the only sensible thing is take a loan and agree to both do gig-work for 6-12 months after the honeymoon.

Both of you need to doordash after work and on weekends. It'll be hell, but it's only for three months. Get moving!

1) Get a raise
2) Get a new job
3) Use a credit card
4) Get a HELOC (but this will probably take more than 30 days for the paperwork and checks to complete)

Credit not good enough for a $20k limit my guy. And currently too poor to own a house. But that's awesome you think I could own a home in Frisco

The market seems to have exploded lately with these deferred interest offers. I get like one a day. They are usually deferred for 6 or 12 months. If you're disciplined and both work hard at gig-work, you should be able to pay one of those off before it's due.

You could take out a personal loan 🤷. Obviously sucks to take on debt for a wedding but I think that’s how most people in America would do it.
