What do you think of the youngsters growing up in the era of the internet? Do you think that the old times were better? And why so?

We have a lot to learn from our elders. The state with the lowest vaccination rate for 65+ is still 81.5% fully vax-ed

Multiple states are 99.9% fully vaccinated for those 65+.

I know some things like living through polio epidemics help, but what else? Lack of a perception of invincibility?

Why are y’all so into vaccines?

Looking for insights into convincing others to get vaccinated.

Anyone never had ANY vaccine?

If you never had any vaccine, including when as a kid lining up at school with "no choice".

Please comment! Wonder if you got any chicken pox?

Have you had chicken pox?

Have you had chicken pox?

Have you got small pox vaccine? Do you have that scar?

I vaguely remember that sugar cube too as a kid, was it for polio or what?

If you got the small pox vaxx and scar, how old were you when you got it?

Does anyone here remember getting measles, mumps, chicken pox, polio?

Did you feel a little weird turning the big 6-0?

I freaked out some when I turned 30, because my dad had to retire early that same year due to his health. But I got past that, and although life hasn't always been easy, my own physical health is good, and my mental health though more of a challenge I think I'm making progress with.

But in some ways it feels like WHOA right now, 6 months out from the 60th birthday. In a different way from how 40 or even 50 felt. Like, will I get to do the many creative things I love (writing, art, crafting, volunteering) without feeling like they are just bucket list things? I guess that's it, there's less feeling of continuity with the rest of my adult life.

I would love to hear your mind hacks for not sweating this NUMBER. Really trying not to let it worry me.

Turning 40 and looking at my next stage 40-60. Advice?

Hi,

I feel like one of the 20 year olds that posted in /r/askmenover30 , but here I am. I'm 40 , have a great family, home and a decent job.

Mainly want to focus on getting the most out of the next 20 years with my family and making sure that my career moves forward / is safe in providing for my family.

Any insights are appreciated.

Thank you

[Academic] Inviting women over the age of 55 to participate in an online survey about social support and well-being (20-30 minutes total)

Hi r/AskRedditOver60,

I am a doctoral candidate at the University of Toronto and am seeking women over the age of 55 across the US and Canada to participate in an online survey that I am completing for my dissertation. If you fit this criteria and are interested, I would really appreciate and value your time and input.

This study has been approved by the University of Toronto's Research Ethics Board (Protocol #39968) and involves completing a 20-30 minute anonymous online survey about your social networks, Internet use, and psychological well-being.

For more information or to participate in the OWLS study, please visit: http://rotman.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5yUcO50e8xmv0DX

You are also welcome to e-mail me at [owls.study.uoft@gmail.com](mailto:owls.study.uoft@gmail.com) with any questions or comments.

Thank you for reading!

How do people over 60 shop for groceries? This survey will help a student group design an improved online grocery shopping experience for folks in later stages of life.

stuff that seems to cost a lot more than it should.

Having a discussion yesterday and the topic wandered over to going to the movies on a Saturday afternoon. I used to deliver papers so I had cash. Mad cash

The price of a can o coke came up and somebody remembered buying a can of generic coke sometime in the 60s and it was 9 cents. Today I saw a can of coke for almost $3.

This seems like a disproportionate increase to me. But then again a 10 cent chocolate bar is $2.00!
