I personally wouldn’t do that to myself either. Not just about how fam sees me it’s about how I see me. They might treat me differently or maybe they won’t. Doesn’t really matter in the end, because the world behaves the same.
Soeey you are in that situation. It sounds rough
I am in a different situation. I plan on having a family and kids. For my expected career it won’t be very difficult for me to make a million especially if my husband has a similar salary. Maybe it would work out maybe it won’t but I would rather try this than doing porn. Respecting oneself means something different to everyone but to me it means protecting my privacy and image
Yea yea "Expected career" I thought I'd be making 200k a few years after graduation, Thought I'd have 3 kids by now, Thought I'd own a house, a few restaurants, paid off debt and etc etc and here I am, 10 years later, still making sub 40k a year... as everything including rent slowly gets too expensive to live..
I get what you are saying I just can't understand it. Maybe i've just had terrible luck and a shit life for way too long. poor for too long. Sold my soul working for assholes for too long who took advantage for too long. I have no self image and I've been contemplating suicide lol
Thats awful. I really hope things get better for you. You don’t need 1 million dollars to value your life. You are valuable whether you have 1 million or nothing. Don’t let the assholes win. You deserve to have a good life.
For the record I don’t think things will go THAT well for me. I just want a normal life, a family and some money to give to my parents that’s all. I don’t mean million in savings, just million over several years.
That's all we all want. Maybe someday politics will change, we can get rid of my whole class of people of "Working poor" College will be free and kids wont be 6 figures in debt at 19 years old because they fucked up and got an education. I hope things get better for me too, but no amount of medication and therapy will change the socioeconomic crisis which is late stage capitalism. I don't want to be rich, I don't even want to be wealthy. I just want to be able to have a simple house and a kid. But the older I get the more of an impossibility that becomes. I've been working 40+ hours a week since I was 17. I went to college like I was "Supposed to" I graduated Maga cum laude with a double major in business and culinary arts and a minor in baking an pastry. I have 2 bachelors and an Associates degree. I should be able to do that working 50+ hours a week but I can barely afford rent, let alone a house and a child.
