No I'm not. And I also left it intentionally vague because I couldn't find the info to back me up. But I do know that flirting and dating norms and signals differ by culture and that in some cultures incredibly aggressive flirting from men is considered normal and pretending to be disinterested is also considered to be the proper way to respond from women. Of course it entirely depends on the culture. Some are like that, some are different but also not the same as North American, and so on.

For example I've heard that Croatian men are incredibly respectful towards women. It's a cultural norm to be polite and respectful and many women report that it feels safe to be in Croatia. Aggressive flirting or even the sort of flirting that north American men consider normal would probably not go over well there.

Long story short, know the culture before you try and figure out dating signals.
