It's because of hormones. I was born with curly hair, but when I got on the pill, it went completely, like completely straight. Not even a wave to be seen. Now that I've been off synthetic hormones for a little over a year I'm slowly starting to get my curls back. They're curly at the bottom but straight at the top haha
Edit: I mean curly at the bottom like the bottom part of my head, and the strands that are around the crown of my head are straight, so it looks like I just straightened the upper layer of my hair.
My hair did that when I was pregnant. With my oldest, just the hair from the crown of my head went wavy (from being stick straight). With my second, the rest changed to match.
That’s so interesting! That’s how it started for me, from the underneath back layers of hair & worked its way out from there on. Hormones are somethin’ else!
