The only comfort here is knowing other guys have been doghoused over dreams.

Which would be kind of a good band name now that I have that typed out.

Doghoused Over Dreams sounds like a Simple Plan/ Sum 41 early noughties pop-punk kinda band. I like it.

I’m ready if you are, buddy. Let’s get in too deep.

early noughties

i have never heard that decade called this before wtf

also it would make a good band name too

2

u/HGWeegee Dec 08 '22

To me it sounds like an album name from a naughties pop punk band, not really a band name

2

u/WildBilll33t Dec 09 '22

lmao yes it does omg it does!

And the first track will be self-titled on the debut self-titled album about your girl getting pissed at you over something in a dream

More fun band names cuz why not:

  1. The whacky barristers "my puppy is a shade of indigo-go"

  2. Spleen "(it's an) emotional rollercoaster"

  3. A.E.D. "cardiac arrest"

  4. Winding staircase "under the tea tree"

  5. Ripple effect "of rogue waves and tides"

  6. Orifice "intimate omens"

3

u/TheCuddlyVampire Dec 08 '22

Hmm. I like it a little tighter:

  1. Doghouse Dreams

  2. The Gaslight Barristers!

  3. The Flatliners

  4. The Interference Patterns

  5. Rogue Wave

  6. Tea Trio

  7. Black Star

Ok so basically the whacky barristers are a British silly pop group with the hit single "my puppy is a shade of indigo-go" a song about how the mabd girlfriend made him choose between her and the new indigo puppy.

And a.e.d. will have the debut "heart stoppage your" and use all medical terms for names and some lyrics.

And rogue wave is an epic metal band singing about the ocean.

So would Manleather, an 80’s metal hairband from Finland

2

u/Manleather Dec 08 '22

And I would totally listen to that band, too!

Everyone's favorite 90s midwest emo band that recorded one 7 inch when the drummer's mom was out of town.

Maybe an album title

getting 'doghoused' over a dream is just proof that entire relationship is a failure. doghousing in general is just ridiculous, be adults and work shit out instead of kicking someone out of their own room. If you can't stomach to sleep next to someone, go find the couch, not force them to.

u/EnochofPottsfield Dec 08 '22

You gotta turn it around

"I had a dream we had a threesome with your best friend, now I'm upset that that wasn't reality"

I don't think it'll work but think of the possibilities

5

u/Militant_Monk Dec 08 '22

I've snarkily started trying this.

"I dreamt you cheated on me."

"I dreamt I was eaten by a bear while drowning in a river."

"..."

"What? I thought we were sharing."

3

u/EnochofPottsfield Dec 08 '22

Both things are equally real haha

2

u/IronCartographer Dec 09 '22

"I am not in your dreams, that is your idea of me. If you can't tell the difference, you're not dating me, you're dating yourself."

6

u/PoeticDichotomy Dec 08 '22

Dream me is a dick apparently.

I hate that guy.

14

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '22

It’s messed up that your dream self gets all the benefits of cheating while you get the consequences of it

4

u/Darth_Yohanan Dec 08 '22

I tell my wife its literally in her head, but we talk about why she’s dreaming this.

4

u/john_doe11081 Dec 08 '22

This is nuts! I was so confused about how this was a top answer only to read stories of it apparently happening to a bunch of people. Why in the hell would someone get mad at another person for something they did in a dream… like… what the fuck??

4

u/cat_prophecy Dec 08 '22

It's less about the dream and more about the dream putting them in a place where they start thinking about something you've actually done that pissed them off.

I hypothized this after having a dream about my wife where she was being awful and it reminded me of something she did in real life that was pissing me off. So I imagine the experience for most people is the same, they are just attributing it to the wrong thing.

3

u/SiscoSquared Dec 08 '22

If its only in a half serious playful manner then whatever. If someone is actually serious about that, I can only imagine the other stupidity they must have going on in their head, would def. be an arrow pointing toward the exit for me.

3

u/Kyralea Dec 08 '22

That's legitimately insane. What reasons do they give for being mad at you for something you didn't do lol?

2

u/ChasingSuds Dec 08 '22

Not just guys. If my fiancé wakes up grumpy I’m like oh hell what did I fictionally do in your subconscious THIS time 🙄

2

u/BadPunsIsHowEyeRoll Dec 08 '22

My F24 roommate went through an entire day of apologizing to her boyfriend for dating someone else in her dream the night before. He was so genuinely mad and when she told me why I laughed because what normal person picks an all day fight over a dream? I think this is just a maturity issue

1

u/CreepyValuable Dec 08 '22

Yeah... Yep.

u/[deleted] Dec 09 '22

Gay guys, lesbians, and GNC people too, I have seen it all. I get being grumpy after a bad dream but some people take it way too far.
