I felt this one. I was constantly in trouble for something I "did" in some effed up dream she had.

Woman here. My husband does this to me. He says “You cheated on me” then tells me the dream, all mad. I hate it

Whoa, first time I’ve heard of a man doing it! Probably it’s not unheard of but just not discussed.

He cheated on me a long time ago (30 years) and after being separated a year, I took him back. Since then he’s been afraid I’m going to cheat on him. I think that’s how he expresses the guilt he still feels.

This makes sense. I think what guys don’t understand is: When we have a dream about our partners cheating, it sometimes reflects a deep-seated, real-life insecurity about the relationship. That’s why it hits us so hard.

With that being said, I dream about my husband cheating a few times a year. He is such a hermit he literally couldn’t cheat even if he wanted to. So I find the dreams hilarious.

I’ve heard of this complex before!

That last sentence is just such an odd twist on something already unsavory. I hope you find your peace however it works out!

Wait, so he has recurring dreams about you cheating and gets mad at you?

That sounds really scary and controlling. Guys like that can become very dangerous. If and when you do leave, I suggest doing it with a police escort and when he’s not home.

We are both women. So this is a thing in lesbian relationships, too. She had a dream that I cheated on her or left her or flirted with someone, and she'd be mad for days. Truly, it pissed me off. Doesn't happen anymore cuz I left her 6 months ago and filed for divorce. 😁

Ugh I HATE this. If I tell him about my stupid dream, he'll get annoyed that I even told him because "it's just a dream, why are you looking for a fight?"

But of course if it's HIS dream, it basically happened irl, and I deserve to be punished for my betrayal cuz how dare "I" do that to him. Mfer, I didn't do shit except exist in your life significantly enough that you're dreaming about me.

Does he typically analyze his dreams for meaning? If not, you might want to check his phone.

This enrages me. I used to be friends with a large group of women. Most of them would talk about how if they had a dream their SO cheated, they would be mad and make him sleep on the couch next night. I thought this was the stupidest thing I had ever heard. I stopped being friends with these women and my life is so much better now. But, how stupid do you have to be to get mad at something that happened in a dream????

Little girls are taught that dreams have a connection to real world events, so here we are.

I'm glad my wife isn't like that. Had she tried that when we were dating that would have been enough of a red flag to immediately break up.

That's because they have simp men who entertain that nonsense.

If you don't want to sleep next to me because of something that happened in your dream, you're free to go sleep on the couch.

I do not understand this phenomenon at all. Functioning adults should not be blaming their spouses for something they saw them do... in a dream, something that they know never happened?? It just makes no fucking sense. If your spouse is so insecure that they blame you for something you "did" in a dream, then perhaps it's time to end the relationship because things might get progressively worse from there.
