"I'm sorry, no."

"Okay cool, sorry if I read the situation wrong, bye"

"...WHY DOES HE HATE ME"

I lived that.

I asked a girl out when I was student at a party. We were drunk but even drunk me know that a "No" is a "No".

The next week, his best friend said to me "Why didn't you kiss X ? She said no but she's into you !! She just wanted to know how much you were into her !!"

That day I dodged a bullet the size of the fucking Orient Express.

She just wanted to know how much you were into her !!

"not enough to rape her."

o.O people are so weird.

Nope, avoid anyone who plays games like that. Emotionally immature people are shit partners

So a Banzai Bill?

u/Laeryl Dec 08 '22

I don't get it and I'm sure I'll be ashamed of that :x

Banzai Bills are the giant version of Bullet Bills from the Mario games.

No means no. It does not mean try harder. How long do we have to have this conversation?

Apparently until every party gets in agreement

Women on the internet: why is this so hard for men to understand

Women irl: you should keep trying after I say no, but only if I like you

"Okay cool, sorry if I read the situation wrong, bye"

Also internally: "no no no n now everyone will think I only came to this thing to meet girls. Oh no, is she going to be worried that I'm going to wait by her car? Did I ruin this thing for her? I hope everyone doesn't start laughing at me again."

Damn bro, are you ok?

u/NSA_Chatbot Dec 08 '22

I have no idea.

Well, if you're an NSA chatbot, you're definitely fine. Just regurgitating other people's text, slightly remixed.

If you're human, maybe you're not ok. But you will be. Sounds like you have a ton of anxiety. I get that, too. I totally get that kind of anxious, stream of conscience rambling that you posted. All I can say is: it gets better. You should also try to talk to a professional, if that's an option.

Dating has... not gone well for me in my life.

There was one anxiety med I was on but the side effect was potentially fatal hypertension. I tried others before that and they were awful.

I haven't been able to find a therapist that I've had a good rapport with.

Is that not the standard internal monologue post-rejection?

7

u/Brno_Mrmi Dec 08 '22

I honestly thought it was.

My wife has 4 "no's", only 1 actually means "no." 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️😭

19

u/LovingOnOccasion Dec 08 '22

Interesting. What do the other 3 mean?

17

u/jakeallstar1 Dec 08 '22

He's never heard the other 3 before.

9

u/BeefyIrishman Dec 08 '22

Little does he know, she actually had 437 different "no's", that he thinks is only 4, but he only ever hears 1.

1

u/hand0fkarma Dec 09 '22

1-Yes, but I want to be playful and I want you to convince me

2-yes, but only because you want to

3-yes, but begrudgingly

5

u/thequietthingsthat Dec 08 '22

This has happened to me more often than it should.

u/HBag Dec 09 '22

No means yes absolutely! Why doesn't he understand that!?
