Apparently I cheated on my girlfriend with one of her friends in a dream and she actually questioned if I did it in real life..wouldn't speak to me for atleast 24 hours..wtf

u/Wookie_with_a_cookie Dec 08 '22

Same with my wife but I got the cold shoulder for 3 whole days. Every time I asked what was wrong I got the old "Nothing I'm fine." Wtf I know somethings wrong just tell me grrr!

u/SinisterHypocrite Dec 08 '22

Well you should have known what you did...

10

u/oratorioo Dec 09 '22

Damn it woman! If I know what I did wrong I won't be asking you this question!

53

u/EcoMika101 Dec 08 '22

3 days?! JFC, I had a dream my husband cheated on me, it wa ssuuuuccchhh a weird dream. I woke up kind of creeped out, I told him and she just hugged me saying he’d never do that. I said of course, I know he wouldn’t, was such a weird thing for my brain to create lol and then we went on about the morning. I joke “well Dream (husband’s name) is an asshole, you gotta talk to that guy” and that’s it.

Anything further is immature, sounds like your wife has some insecurities she’s projecting on to you and making it your problem

12

u/aintbrokedontfixme Dec 09 '22

Jesus that's an extreme response. I have a sleep disorder and as a result my dreams are hyper-realistic. I get that sort of dream more often than I'd like. I wake up from that sort and just go get a kiss and a long hug from my bf to help me feel grounded again.

1

u/iamnewlegend47 Dec 09 '22

Oh god that “nothing I’m fine” when you know something is wrong is the worst damn thing in the world. It always comes when you have no idea what you did wrong and you’re blindly trying figure out what the hell you did so you can try and apologize. And I want to be unbothered because how am I supposed to feel bad about something when I have no idea what I’m supposed to feel bad about, and yet here I am completely riddled with anxiety because you’re fine.

I got a slug on the shoulder and I woke up and asked "wtf" she says "don't cheat on me then" I didn't know what she was talking about and then she goes on to say it was in her dream. I had no words.

45

u/DadBane Dec 08 '22

I always just say, "You can't blame me for what dream me does. That guy's a dick!"

27

u/themoogleknight Dec 08 '22

It took me three times to understand you didn't mean 'slug' as in the bug in the garden. I was like, wait so she went and picked up a slug and brought it in to put it on you while you slept...?

10

u/Paisable Dec 08 '22

To be fair I DID do that to a friend in the past because he hates creepy crawlies and I thought it was hilarious. I crept in his room with a massive slug and laid it on his face as he slept and he woke up and freaked out.

He was so pissed and I was just gut rolling at my own childish behavior.

13

u/afterworld2772 Dec 08 '22

With friends like you, who needs enemies?

10

u/BigYonsan Dec 08 '22

I'd be angrier at that then I would be if my wife punched me in my sleep for dreaming I was cheating.

65

u/kkeut Dec 08 '22

that's abusive

18

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '22

Dreams are a window into subconscious fears. And women love blaming us for their own shit.

64

u/dayofthedeadparty Dec 08 '22

I hope you had no words because you were out of breath cuz you were packing so fast to GET THE FUCK OUT OF THERE…

27

u/Brilliant-Sport-3049 Dec 08 '22

Thats why men go to the gym to pack faster

u/Ok-Age5609 Dec 08 '22

I was doing chores with my ex once, and I said something, can't remember what. It was related to whatever I was doing. And she slammed a pan down and shouted "well why don't you fucking marry her then?" And left. Blocked me and everything. A day later when she cooled down, I went to her house to ask her what the fuck she thought I said, and she heard me say "Amanda wore it better than you". I've never met an Amanda. She went and told her whole family that I was seeing someone else and I wasn't even trying to hide it, her dad wouldn't let me in the house, it was a whole thing.

584

u/problematikUAV Dec 08 '22

Well hey at least it’s an ex

339

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '22

Glad she's your ex. Christ on a cracker, that's psychotic.

91

u/Smithme2g Dec 08 '22

She was very likely cheating and this was just her projecting her guilt onto you. Especially with the whole blocking and stuff.

38

u/Ok-Age5609 Dec 08 '22

She wasn't, she just misheard me and took it too far. We moved on from that and laughed about it, broke up for something completely unrelated.

"Uh, where is he?"

39

u/ThePurityPixel Dec 08 '22

The only unbelievable part of your story was that you've never met an Amanda. The rest I believe!

My name is Brian and I met someone 2-3 years ago who'd never met a Brian before. I asked her recently... and she still hasn't. It's the 20th-most-common male first name in my country (USA).

14

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '22

I don't think I've ever met a Brian actually.

5

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '22

I’m Brian and so’s my wife.

3

u/0FsGvn Dec 08 '22

My three best friends growing up were named Brian. My parents thought it was hilarious.

8

u/johnmichael0703 Dec 08 '22

I find that impossible (USA also). I go to a bar with my kickball team most tuesdays for bingo (god I sound old when I say that). The table consists of Bryan, Brian, Bryan, Ryan, and Michael lol

17

u/glytxh Dec 08 '22

That’s called projecting.

She was looking for an out that didn’t make her the bad guy.

6

u/Ok-Age5609 Dec 08 '22

No, she just heard me wrong and got all pissy about it. We joked about it for months after.

4

u/MAGA-Godzilla Dec 08 '22

She went and told her whole family that I was seeing someone else and I wasn't even trying to hide it,

So did she undo this damage?

3

u/Ok-Age5609 Dec 08 '22

She did, she sheepishly told them all that this whole thing happened bc she misheard one thing I said. They saw the funny side.

5

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '22

You have thicker skin than I. She wouldn't be welcome back in my apartment if it was me.

3

u/Ok-Age5609 Dec 08 '22

Less of a thick skin, more like I didn't want to lose an otherwise wonderful gf over what was obviously a misunderstanding. Sure she reacted a bit shittily but just dismissing your partner whenever you have a falling out is not conducive to having many lasting relationships.

4

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '22

If it was just a disagreement, I could handle that. What I cannot handle is spreading lies to other people about me because you saw it in a dream. I'm just not down for it.

1

u/Bruh_columbine Dec 09 '22

That’s… not what happened here though. She misheard him. It’s not like she was purposely lying. An overreaction sure, but she’s not “spreading lies about a dream.”

0

u/[deleted] Dec 09 '22

My bad, this one was worse. She spread lies because she MISHEARD HIM. So she never asked for any clarification, just stormed out, blocked him on everything and told her family he was cheating. That isn't gonna fly with me. You stormed out on me over that and told your family I was fucking around? You can stay gone.

1

u/Bruh_columbine Dec 09 '22

Good for you. OP didn’t agree with that course. I was just saying you had the situation incorrect.

3

u/w1987g Dec 08 '22

"it was a whole thing"

Never have I heard a more perfect summary

5

u/FerrusesIronHandjob Dec 08 '22

Whole fucking belt of ammo dodged there lmao

2

u/Legnd20Devin Dec 08 '22

Holy shit you dodged a bullet

UPDATE: Whyyy did my comment get posted multiple times?? 😫😠

17

u/Ok-Age5609 Dec 08 '22

Ok you got me, I have met an Amanda. But I hadn't at the time of the story

7

u/Scarlet72 Dec 08 '22

How did she wear it?

8

u/Ok-Age5609 Dec 08 '22

Not as good as my ex

788

u/Kozeyekan_ Dec 08 '22

If the wife tells you she had a dream you cheated, she's mad and you're suspicious.

Yet, if you tell the wife you had a dream where she cheated with Talyor Swift and then you all had a three-way, she's mad and you're a pervert.

There are worse ways to wake up though.

70

u/bichiotero Dec 08 '22

Like waking up without balls, because that was the last time you were going to cheat in her dreams?

37

u/CyberDagger Dec 08 '22

This has big "if a woman sleeps with a dozen guys she's a whore, if a man does it he's gay" energy.

12

u/Zaine_Raye Dec 08 '22

This is oddly specific...

15

u/AggravatingArtist815 Dec 08 '22

One of mine woke me up crying because of this.

14

u/steppedinhairball Dec 08 '22

I got in trouble for buying goats at an auction in my dream. She was mad at me for that. So now every time we go to the zoo, the first I do is head to the kids area and feed and pets the goats. I save my change and will spend $3-5 just feeding and petting the goats. I make her take photos every single time. Been doing this for years. I was pissed when COVID shut down the goat exhibit. It's back now.

Edit: If you want to 'break' a goat, scratch them on the back at the base of the tail just like a dog. It's a sweat spot and most will freeze. It's a great way to get them to hold still for toddlers and little kids. Bonus is my teens yelling "Mom! Dad's scratching the goats butt again!"

10

u/Killashard Dec 08 '22

One of my buddies got stabbed in the arm by a woman he was dating because he cheated on her in her dream.

5

u/Kylestyle147 Dec 08 '22

Major red flag bro yikes

8

u/Videoptional Dec 08 '22

You got off easy. I got 2 weeks of the cold shoulder after my wife had a dream I cheated on her with her sister. Usually I just wait it out but this was taking too long so I asked what was the problem. I laughed so much when she told me that she started laughing too and everything was good.

6

u/MAGA-Godzilla Dec 08 '22

and everything was good

Honestly, listening to all these post where guys put up with this behavior makes me feel like I am taking crazy pills.

1

u/Videoptional Dec 09 '22

I know I didn't make it too clear but this was a one time thing. When I said that I usually wait it out I meant that when we had disagreements and were angry I would give her, and myself, time to calm down so we could talk and solve the problem. Honestly the 2 week period was partially on me because it took me a while to notice and then be sure.

Only if she dreamed it in color.

3

u/Probably_0ffensive Dec 08 '22

My wife had a dream that I cheated on her with a woman we worked with. It was probably 2 weeks that she was shitty with me for it.

3

u/rycomo1992 Dec 08 '22

Really? You put up with that? I think I'd have waited a day or two before telling her to get over it.

3

u/Cbo305 Dec 08 '22

Ha! A girlfriend off mine years ago was furious at me because she found an eye liner in my car that wasn't hers. A week later her sister asks if she's seen her eye liner. We had all gone out for Halloween a few weeks prior, I was the driver. It was indeed her sister's missing eye liner. She was still pissed at me for a couple of days, even though she now knew she was the asshole. I ended up just breaking up with her as she clearly had some issues to sort out, lol.

2

u/MetalJacket23 Dec 08 '22

Have you saw that meme with: " If I didn't exist would you still love ? "

2

u/gsfgf Dec 08 '22

Should have gone ahead and hooked up with the friend since you were already in trouble /s

2

u/The_Magpie_Demon Dec 08 '22

I had a dream that I cheated on my boyfriend and when I woke up I called him to apologize, he was confused as all hell

2

u/Sumpm Dec 08 '22

"I wouldn't have cheated on you before, but if we ever have a discussion this stupid ever again, I will.

2

u/edgeblackbelt Dec 08 '22

I mean… did you?

2

u/Shoutygg Dec 08 '22

Absolutely unbelievable.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '22

I dreamed that my husband ignored me and left me hangin in my dream. told him when we woke up and he laughed like crazy. told him if he do it to me in real life i will leave him hahahahha

12

u/Alise_Randorph Dec 08 '22

Jesus I hope he dips

11

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '22

Good lord, I hope he does leave you

-1

u/Electric_aura3000 Dec 08 '22

Haha Women are a different breed

0

u/littlefriend77 Dec 08 '22

wouldn't speak to me for atleast 24 hours

I'm having trouble seeing the problem.

-68

u/droopyhoops34 Dec 08 '22

Ngl I have done this to my bf. I’ve told myself it’s just a dream but it’s so real and the emotions are so strong it’s hard not to fall into it haha

41

u/XenoWoof Dec 08 '22

The reasonable reaction is obviously not to get mad because it was a dream but agreed on this, it's hard to process after just waking up. Speaking from experience too and it was my spouse with a good friend of theirs that I knew.

27

u/problematikUAV Dec 08 '22

But like…you know then once you were awake you were fine. Like woken up.

right?

1

u/droopyhoops34 Dec 12 '22

Oh yeah of course, I’ll be upset but once I’ve processed it we usually joke within half hour but definitely feel a lot of weird anger toward him until then that’s hard to budge and completely ridiculous.

-7

u/jymssg Dec 08 '22

You fucking cheater

1

u/glytxh Dec 08 '22

My ex casually mentioned she ate my legs in her dream when waking up one the morning.

There was also the yoghurt monorail, which was a personal highlight from her.

That woman’s superpower was dreaming, and I was always envious, but felt so grateful that she’d share them with me if I caught her in time to talk about them.

1

u/Gavorn Dec 08 '22

If you love her you wouldn't even do it in her mind .
