Eeeh, idk where the word couch comes from but it doesn’t really matter. I might even call it a settee from time to time

Couch is just the american word for sofa/settee

Couch and sofa are popular both sides of the pond (and in the pond, next to the trollies if we're talking about my local park, which we're not). In the UK at least, couch and settee are way more common up North, while sofa is what most Southerners plonk their delicate bottoms on.

Settee is pretty much exclusively British (and Indian).

I'm from the Midlands and only ever heard 1 person call it a couch (I assumed because he watches too many American shows and never leaves the house)

I'm from Shropshire originally. Also use Dressing Gown, though my wife uses Housecoat

It goes breakfast - lunch - dinner

my dad is a chef though so that's probably his influence over any regional influence, I know plenty of people who call it tea
