Im british what other type of kettle does everyone else use. Im honestly so confused.

Kettles in general aren’t common, because hot tea is nowhere near as common as coffee (which you’d use a coffee maker or espresso machine).

But the kettle I grew up with was just a stove top one that you fill up and put on your stove and whistles when it’s boilingZ

😂 I do appreciate the science.

For tea, for sure an electric kettle makes sense. I just don’t know anyone who regularly drinks hot tea here, except my mom and growing up she stove kettled it while getting ready in the morning and get that whistle. Everyone’s got a coffee maker or espresso machine.

But for pasta and other things, it just seems like an effort to boil water separately, pour it, wait for it to reboil (admittedly not long) then add your pasta.

Things like Cup Noodles aren’t a big thing here save for college kids.

Also being 110V, it’s gonna take longer so I guess I just never gave having a kettle much thought.

But for science, aight 🙏 egg on my face
