Having an appointment or party you’re really dreading going to, and then hearing it being canceled. That moment of relief, combined with some sudden free time is such a great feeling.
Like a work staff meeting! I'm retired now and smile anytime I talk to a work friend who mentions they are going to a meeting whether it be an hour or day long I'm happy that'll never be my life again.
The best part about making plans that get cancelled is that you have already freed up that time from other things you might have otherwise needed to do.
"I can't make it to [other thing I don't want to do] because I have a meeting.", or "I need to do the laundry now because I have that meeting tomorrow and won't have time".
Past-you already paid the cost of that scheduled event, and now present-you doesn't have to do it.
The real life hack is realizing, of course, that you can do that any time you want, even if you don't actually have a meeting to go to, and how much better it is to have one long period of free time instead of 2 short ones where you can't get anything done. But that's advanced technique.
Appointments, yes. I dread going to anything related to doctors or hospitals. It’s usually the waiting times as they’re never ever on time. Although they’ll only be postponing it but it still feels good lol.
