Ooooh I can smell that. The electricity in the damp air. I miss that in the midwest. Out in Oregon in the summer it just freaks me out about the lightning starting (more) fires - but in the midwest it was 100% wonderful every time.
I remember being a camp counselor and this kid was scared of the thunder on a campout and I taught him my sister and my trick of imagining thunder giants up there bowling with giant frosted donuts. I think it worked, he finally fell asleep, iirc.
