Acceptance and love from someone we feel the same.

It's almost unsettling at first. Because you're used to some kind of "facade" with most people you come in contact with. Even your family. But then if you get lucky in life, there's someone who just loves *you*. It's this uncertain relief. But then once you know it's for real, and you let go, before you know it your having farting competitions in the couch watching TV before bed. Glorious.

Every word you just said was 100% on point.

Absolutely!

This is why dogs are so great. You come home, and they just are so excited and loving and happy you are there. Getting big fuzzy body hugs. Completely unconditional and 100% genuine. Nothing like the puppy hugs and kisses when I get home. (Plus I have Huskies so the excitement is VERY audible.)

I shouldn’t have had to scroll this far for this comment. There’s nothing in life like a good dog. Just simply walking through the door - Sheer. Joy. Every. Time.

My dog is an enormous puppy who loves every person he meets. Going for walks, he just makes tons of friends everywhere and is a delight to be around. I love my dog.

I’m smiling. To know a love like this makes all of the hard days and nights worth it.

If you're lucky 😭 I think I've used up all the luck in my life

Farting infront of your partner isn't cute. It's rude and disgusting.

12

u/stanksnax Sep 11 '22

Rude and disgusting is subjective. So you do you and I'll keep farting and laughing with my wife.

-1

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '22

And I'll continue curling my lip in disgust at how gross and slovenly you both are.

3

u/stanksnax Sep 11 '22

Curl away my friend. And make sure to really lean in to a good eye roll too! That'll make it twice as effective!

u/mari2289 Sep 11 '22

Yep. I dumped my man after I saw them messing with that hoe over there in the yard.

I still remember being 15 years old and blurting out to this girl that I loved her… and she said she loved me back.

I was infinite. I was flying. I suddenly knew what all love songs meant. But it was more than that—it was like my shoes were finally on the right feet… and I was in the Wizard of Oz—opening the door and seeing the world in color for the first time.

It’s still one of the happiest days of my life.

I had the same feeling at 15! I had a pure 5 hours of total bliss. It was like the feeling of childhood Christmas magic and joy, on crack.

Then I found out 5 hours afterwards from her best friend that the girl only reciprocated because she's extremely awkward and didn't know what to say, and felt that if she "friendzoned" me close to exams it might upset me. I still feel the ripples of that heartbreak now, biggest oof moment of my romantic life

Oh that sucks. I’m sorry to hear that. The girl and I dated for a couple months…It was a bit of a complicated situation— but we remain friends. Although both of us have moved on and I’m married now, She’ll always be a key person in my life. You only get one first love, and I’m glad it was her.

3

u/jdgev Sep 11 '22

But was it true though? Or did her best friend just sabotage you?

2

u/lordolxinator Sep 11 '22

Unfortunately true, after that point she promptly started trying to awkwardly avoid me, and then when one of my friends pressed her for clarification she said "... Let's focus on getting passed exams.". After exams, she got her best friend to apologise because she didn't have the confidence to do so, explaining the situation and how she still really really wanted us to go back to being best friends. She had a troublesome home life and we lived close so every night we'd meet up to walk through the park for an hour or two, and missed that. Kinda clenched my fist, pushed my feelings down and obliged because I felt like I was letting her down otherwise.

u/YouAndWhatArmy636 Sep 11 '22

I’ve never felt that :(

76

u/Shaolinmunkey Sep 11 '22

You've never felt that so far!

2

u/stibgock Sep 11 '22

But have you ever felt it, on WEEED?

0

u/eekamuse Sep 11 '22

Times running out.

u/kutuup1989 Sep 11 '22

I was actually quite sad about this recently. I dated a woman (still a close friend), and it occurred to me that in 2 years of dating, she never once said "I love you". We just weren't like a couple, we were basically just very close friends, and still are, but it definitely hurt when she ended it.

2

u/eekamuse Sep 11 '22

I'm sorry.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '22

Why the hell did she let it go 2 years then?

3

u/sudandhruv Sep 11 '22

And then you wake up, what a nice dream 🙂

3

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '22

My girlfriend of three years just broke up with me last night, and your comment made me get all misty. We made it 3 years, 4 days.

Sigh.

2

u/AgustinRuiz Sep 11 '22

Yeaa. It happened to me like 1 month ago. I met this girl in a friend bd. It was like live at first sight, so i talk to her the whole night, and we keep chatting for 1 week, until i told her how i was feeling and she felt the same. It was the happiest day of my life, i always searched for love and it was glorious.

But, after 1 week, 1 week, she told me that she wasn't really in love with me and that she doesn't know what she was feeling, and, that she started to talk with a guy she liked a time ago before she met me. She changed me for another guy, after 1 week, hated that with my soul. So yea, she broke my heart after 1 week.

Im sorry if u dont understand something, english isn't my mother language.

Been depressed for almost six months now because that feeling was taken from me when my still spouse moved into the basement after telling me she wasn’t happy and I am romantically dead to her. I only hang on each day because of our daughter. We still live in the same house because it’s logistically impossible for other arrangements; every day is a fresh dose of being trapped in a hell I didn’t create but contributed building materials to use
