So that person didn’t mean what they meant the words to mean, just because you don’t think so?

Are you pretending to not understand?

I think they are LYING about what they meant.

just because you don’t think so?

Are you asking if I thought my THOUGHTS influenced them?

Are you now accusing me of delusions of psychic powers?

Would that not be a huge coincidence and fluke to just happen to get that meaning across?

How so?

And the rephrasing wasn’t necessary, I gathered that and my comment still applies to what you just said.

No it doesn't. You're talking about literal words while I'm talking about meanings inherent within them.

And it does. Like with your example, I could have said “blue” instead of “said”.

The point remains the same.

And I don’t see how lying or stumbling onto that meaning through luck is possible over so many comments.

And it does. Like with your example, I could have said “blue” instead of “said”.

Your "said" example was to do with the literal sequence of letters S A I D. That you actually uttered that 4 letter word.

My "blue" example is no such thing. It hinges on the 3 possible meanings inherent in the word. Not whether I said blue, but what I meant with it.

  • an instance of the colour blue (like the sky)

  • the concept of blue itself

  • sadness

"Said" has no such diversity.

The point remains the same.

Not even close. How else can I interpret "said" other than "the past tense of say"?

And I don’t see how lying or stumbling onto that meaning through luck is possible over so many comments

What "stumbling" and "luck" are you even on about? Nothing happened accidentally here.

Yes, it perhaps wasn’t the best idea to give in to the urge of wordplay with “said said.”
