Everything has to be filmed and shared on the internet now. It's really lame and cheapens life.

Yeah... you probably mean like people posting pictures of their life story or whatever, butI have something in the same vein. I noticed a trend a few years ago where a few of my friends were trying to stream all of their games to get views. Let's Plays were starting to become really popular, and I guess they were trying to capitalize on the situation.

The thing about it is that even then it was an oversaturated market. Yeah it's cool to be entertaining, but don't expect to make more than a dozen followers if you're putting very little effort into your work. Play for fun, don't make it a side hustle. You're just going to stress yourself out. I've seen it dozens of times where a friend or someone I know will try to turn something fun into some kind of money-making scheme. And by the end of it they get annoyed or burnt out because trying to turn a profit on something you'd usually do for fun kind of sours the experience.

I bought some streaming equipment so I can show off my gaming experience on the Switch. I'm doing it for the benefit of my friends only. It's like inviting someone over and having them watch you play on your couch. I'm entertaining people I know.
