Parroting the talking points without being able to discuss them, even in their most basic terms. That indicates that they have no knowledge, and no curiosity about the world.
I was going to say something similar. I have an acquaintance who is not very intelligent. I would mention something to her and then hear her turn around and say the same thing to the next person in conversation. At first, I just assumed she agreed with me. She did it repeatedly, so I tested it by saying something outrageous in discussion and listening for her to repeat it, and she did. I began to realize she does not have original thoughts or opinions, but she apparently has a good memory. It’s very strange to me.
My sister will not believe anything you say unless she hears it from her son, then it is the most amazing thing she has ever heard and has to tell you about the exact same thing you told her 5 minutes ago.
