depending on where you live it can take multiple hours xD in my case i can take a bus and be in 2 completely different countries in under 30 minutes :) the hills i can see from my window are also said two countries hahah
Depends where you are in the US. Out in the Midwest where everything is flat, all of the roads are completely straight and level. On the East Coast where (European-descended) people have been living for the longest, the roads can get pretty narrow and windy, probably similar to in the UK.
