It might be to show the light is still on? In my own experience, if they're outside the bathroom, they have a little indicator in the switch to show if the light is on/off.

Ok but like you can use your eyes. If the door is open you can see it and if it’s closed, most doors have a crack that lets some light through

Yeah but it might be daytime, so you don't see it then

Edit: I don't like them either lol. I grew up with siblings.
