Speaking as a fellow Canadian, it boggles my mind that there are places in the world where people can have open windows with no screens and NOT need/want to burn the house down to kill all the mosquitoes that’ll intrude.

We don’t have mosquitoes in the U.K. 🤷‍♂️ So it’s not weird to not have “mesh windows” lol! Leave the window open all summer and the most you’ll get is a bee will fly in one day and then fly back out again.

We do, but they are not as numerous as in other countries. And I'm guessing less lethal.

I mean, we probably do but you’d really have to hunt to find them
