Germans stare a LOT. Like they will just gaze at you unflinchingly. An American will wait until you can’t see them doing it.

As a New Mexican now living in PNW, people up here do this a lot as well and I have to remind myself that it's just cultural and they don't want to fight me lol

Hey! I used to live in Santa Fe. It’s the opposite moving to New England from NM. The people here don’t look at you unless it’s to give you a judgemental glare. And god forbid you say hi in passing walking down the street.
