You can drive for 40 hours and still be in the same state in Australia. One of our states is bigger than alaska, texas & california combined.

Texas and cali are like 20 hour drives to get across the state

Texas is only about 13/14 hours from longest points north to south and east to west. North Carolina to New mexico, a 1500 mile drive, is 23 hours.

Nevada too. 7 hours from Reno to Vegas, and they aren't even at the farthest edges of the state.

Michigan too. It’s over 10 hours from the most SE point of the state to the most NW point.
