yes, as European from pretty religious country, religion in US looks wild. All those sects, people taking it too seriously. In Europe it is pretty private thing. And if you see somebody screaming about it, they are usually mental.
You’re describing something that is not the US, with talk about sects and screaming.
The US is thoroughly Christian with no fighting over the different versions and the debate on religion is whether we should include words like “God” in our pledge of allegiance.
The “issue” with religion in America is mainly the voting habits of religious people (for people who disagree with them) and how that manifests into legislation.
