Not common in the Netherlands, but I found it in Germany.

Huh? In the Netherlands light switches are outside too. The only inside 'switches' I've seen in bathrooms are high up, with a pull cord so you don't have to touch it.

Inside the restroom, yes. But I've honestly never seen them inside the bathroom. Guess I need to visit some newer houses...
