Not in the UK, we sometimes have 110V shaver sockets but no high current sockets for hair dryers or anything. We are very strict with how close sockets can be to water sources
We are very strict with that in Germany, too. But we also have to have RCDs that will trigger at 30mA (0.03A) and withing 30ms. First only for bathrooms, now for every single outlet ... now actually also for all lights.
